Of our “Littles” who have participated in at least an 18-month mentoring relationship in a Big Brothers or Big Sisters community-based mentoring program, the following results have been realized:
- 54% are more likely to say “no” to drugs
- 73% are more likely to refuse alcohol
- 48% are more likely to stay in school
- 70% are more likely to choose conflict resolution over violence
- More say they are confident in their performance in school work
- More say they get along better with their families
- Minority Littles are 70% less likely than their peers to initiate drug use.
