This place changed my life. It gave me the structure and. Time to get back on my feet. I loved the staff. Some became my family my time there.. it’s a good step to make when your strung out with nothing.. it will get you someplace
Being i stayed 74 days. The groups were helpful I learned alot ive been sober going on 6 months. It was after group when you are upstairs its dirty.. The staff were the most Unprofessional people I've ever met. Example: a supervisor was on the phone with a man while i had to take a drug test in the bathroom.. SO RUDE.. They would let women attend group while being high.. ATLEAST HAVE THEM GO TO THEIR ROOM.. The worse part was everyday there was a new rule.. The most unconsistentt place I've ever been. Sometimes the staff didnt even know what was going on because there was no Communication From the head lady who ran the place.. Needs alot of improvement.. And these place could be really amazing... GOOD LUCK TO WHO EVER IS GOING THERE.
My experience was VERY beneficial. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to meet some of these people. When I was in the darkest days of my addiction, I remember just wanting to be "normal again". I didn't know who I was anymore... VOA helped me, help myself if that makes any sense? Staff aren't there to cater to you, this place isn't going to be a vacation and you will be stepping outside of your comfort zone but I promise it'll all be 100% worth it in the end. I suggest you use your time wisely. The choices you make while at VOA should be in preparation for your life after you leave. They'll give you the tools to do so but be prepared to put in the work! Try to keep an open mind and be respectful. RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE. However, as common as it may sound, IT ONLY WORKS IF YOU WORK IT. Never give up on yourself!
This place is okay. We are suppose to have two groups a day in the fresh start program. Clinical group and parenting group. The clinical group is very helpful but we dont even do the parenting group half the time because they are understaffed. Theres very poor communication and they are very unorganized. Its helpful to get sober but thats about ir. They are suppose to help with housing but your better off doing all that on your own or you'll be here for months there are some things i like about it and alot of things i dont so im kind of in the middle with this place. I would reccomend going if you have an open dcs case. You can have up to 2 children with you under age 5 so thats pretty cool. Theres alot of small stuff you can get in trouble for right now because of Covid. Like not wearing a mask or eating in the dayroom so that cn screw up your program if you forget those things so I dont like that
This is an absolutely wonderful program. I have been in the program for approximately 45 days so far. Many many pros, unfortunately a few cons. Pros: support from fellow residents whom I have much in common with. Am able to have my babies with me. Able to take time to recover, learn, grow and make progress towards my future. Group sessions everyday, activities and social gatherings. All and all , this is one of the best rehabilitation centers for those who are serious about recovery and sobriety. Cons: which hopefully are temporary and will be resolved in time Staff can get overwhelmed and stressed causing tension and confusion amongst the residents. Have witnessed and expirenced poor communication with staff resulting in put downs, harsh words and the need to test coping skills in order to refrain from discharging from the program or worse- sudden relapse. My only complaints and from what fellow residents have stated as well- we progress and gain personal achievements easier when there is stability and routine and words of encouragement/moral support from the staff. Happiness equals success and fulfilment of personal hopes and dreams! Best wishes to the program. May it continue for years to come- fixing any issues along the way!
Fresh Start offers residential addictions treatment to mothers and pregnant women. Kids can stay with their mom in this unique program while reciving treatment.
The ACF program could be so much more but there really petty and unrealistic. But that's mostly child protective services fault. But fake it till you make it, that's my modo.
This place changed my life! Management can be rough around the edges but staff really cares about the clients. Would recommend to anyone looking to get sober
Very knowledgeable counsels, front desk lady is pleasent and I enjoy talking with her
By me passing through and checking out certain things and talking to the women at times let's me see they can be help.
