Food is terrific and service even better! Ethan B was awesome!! The two dishes I sampled included the Caeser salad (a good portion) and the tuna fish tacos (great flavors and happily surprised the tuna was rare & cold).
We celebrated our daughter's police academy graduation here with a luncheon of 11 and couldn't have been happier! I don't think one our glasses were ever empty-Ethan was attentive but not annoying. He was even kind enough to remember we ordered a cake weeks prior (even though we forgot) and made sure everyone got a piece before leaving. It was DELICIOUS- I would highly recommend this one for chocolate lovers. It was called chocolate corruption (appropriate for our celebration).
Troy and Kathy arranged for us to set up the table with party favors and balloons a few minutes prior to our guests arrival. We made the reservation months prior and as our guest list changed they were very accommodating and pleasant to work with. They confirmed by phone and we also exchanged emails regarding the wonderful cake choices they provide. They all seem like a "well oiled machine". Can't thank you all enough.

Really great Southern food. Nice selection of beer too. I was also impressed with the staff. Needless to say that I got the "proud mama" award for finishing all my food. Okra, fried green tomatoes(recommended) and the huge pork chop. I will go there every time I am in Gainesville.

Best secret in town! Off the beaten path and never too crowded. Maybe not for long, though. Quality of food is unmatched for the price. I’ve never had an issue with service, and the bar tender...well, never mind. ;)

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. We started with the crispy cauliflower that was perhaps a bad choice on my part. In retrospect, cauliflower with butter, peanuts and raisins sounds horrendous and truly it was- the cauliflower was crispy to the point where it was super dry and plated in a pool of butter . It was only edible once I asked for a side of ranch. Next, the steak salad- the steak had no flavor and although it should be served with blue cheese crumbles, mine did not include it. The waitress had to bring me a side of crumbles, as they'd forgotten to include. The house salad was ordered with chicken. We did not expect to be served cold chicken. I'm baffled why any restaurant would serve a grilled chicken house salad with cold chicken. The effort is lacking and I'd have been better off with the grab and go pre packaged salads they sell at super markets if I really wanted cold chicken. In addition, i did not enjoy picking through some pieces of wilted lettuce. The fish sandwich was overly fried and dry and I did not care for the house chips (they had too sweet a taste and went heavy on the sugar for my taste ). Finally, the roasted chicken was the only OK dish. This one seemed too have a bit of actual seasoning and flavor. It is served with veggies that were fine and mac and cheese (lacked flavor, but can be tolerated -think Kraft). All in all, I'd say eat here if the only standard you have is "edible" . I cannot comment on the drink selection. The service was ok. It could be improved. For instance, halfway into my entree, i realized they had about 6 specials that night, none of which the waitress had bothered to tell us about. My recommendation is avoid what was a severely underwhelming dining experience for me.

Right off a Main Street, but great food and easy parking!
I had the Sheepshead fish. (I am sure that the menu changes as the restaurant gets fresh fish in and of course that may change even on a daily basis.
I was concerned at first that the potatoes were a little too firm, but that played well against the salty and buttery sauce. The sweet pea/spring peas and mushrooms made for a great backdrop to highlight the delicate texture and taste of the Sheepshead.
I recommend this to all who want a break and want to upscale their dining choice. Especially nice after being at the University of Florida all day!
Added to my review for dessert fiends: Good quality coconut cake. Not too moist or too chilled. Perfect with a hot cup of black coffee. A little too plain for my taste. Would have toasted the shredded coconut nut some.
