Boxcar is hands down my favorite pizza in Portland. Flavor, texture, service, it’s all amazing. Fluffy, crunchy crust, delicious crave worthy ricotta, awesome specials. I would recommend this pizza to anyone, especially vegans<3

This is some my favorite vegan pizza!! I wish we lived closer. The cheesy garlic bread sticks had whole cloves of garlic in them. So good! The pizza was surprisingly light and the varied cheeses were magical. The staff was kind and we enjoyed sitting in the shared outdoor seating behind the restaurant.

This was the biggest meal we had in Portland. Don’t think we have had Detroit style pizza much and this was really delicious. It was like amazing bread with cool flavors and toppings. We could not finish all of it between 4 of us, but are glad for to try different versions. This would made for great party finger food if sliced thinner. My younger self that did not get to eat a lot of pizza really enjoyed exploring unique plant based pizzas in Portland. Great organization with impactful values.

Hands down the best vegan pizza I’ve ever had! The crust is perfectly chewy and the toppings are amazing. Super fast and great service too!

UPDATE2! They totally figured out the issues and are serving bombbbb pizzas again! Had a whole menu overhaul too! UPDATE: reached out directly and the owner is super responsive and is addressing these issues. I love this place and can't wait to give them a try again. Will update when issues are fully resolved! I hate to write this review. I had been to Boxcar about 3 times last year and it was freaking delicious! Best vegan pizza ever, crispy crust, delicious toppings, best ranch hands down. Well I came here last month and last night. Both times the crust either wasn't cooked all the way or became insanely soggy in the time it took to bring it to their seating area. They have also decided to just dump huge amounts of tomato sauce all over the top of the pizzas. I'm eating pizza, not tomato sauce. I walked in last night and asked if they were still making pizza due to their back door being locked and it was 8pm. I just wanted to not be rude as they closed at 9pm. They guy was NOT friendly. We ordered and explained the issues last time and he was so defensive saying everything is standard and exactly the same. It was our fault the dough was soggy. Then, the exact same thing happened last night. These photos are both of the Green Supreme, the nicer pizza is from November, the pizza sauce covered one from last night. Vegetarian options: All vegan menu!

Astonishingly good 100% vegan pizza. Unique among others around the city in offering square, deep-dish, Detroit-style slices. You'd never know the cheese was vegan; very creamy and rich. Note: at least as of the time of this review, you will need to order online, even if you're not getting it delivered, but the process is fairly painless.

One of my absolute favourite vegan pizzas! The variety is excellent. You might think 4 ‘slices’ isn’t enough, but it is!! Tastes just as good as left overs, too. The vegan proteins & cheeses were phenomenal and I can’t wait to go back!

I was so excited to try this place after seeing all the rave reviews and the pictures on Instagram always look SO good. Unfortunately it was a let down which has me so confused! Thought it was going to be really good but I think it’s my least favorite vegan pizza I’ve tried. We got the bianca and pepperoni I know it’s vegan but the cheese texture was weird and slimy, kind of sticks to your teeth I think that was the ricotta mostly. Not much flavor overall. The sauce was bland and tasted like a basic can of tomato sauce. Dough was okay, I like the crispy edges.

Ok! We ordered Cheese Burger Pizza. Taste was good. However, it was missing tomatoes and toppings were added sparingly. Vegetarian options: Vegan Dietary restrictions: Vegan Pizza
