The neighborhood is great but when it comes to the rental manager handling proper responsibility, they fall short. I have been dealing with a reoccurring rodent problem for over a year. We have contacted management over 50 times and have not had the problem fixed. I have personally had to catch and exterminate about 3 myself. Our area stays clean and we still have constant issues. All they do is come out to set traps/ poison. Not identify the actual issue. They have not moved my dishwasher or oven where they are probably coming from or given any effective solutions. The manager seems very unmotivated to give us any helpful solutions to exterminate the issues. The rodents have damaged multiple areas in the apartment and we have to leave multiple traps all around the apartment that rarely ever works. I am not comfortable walking around my apartment barefoot because of this. I would give this place a 5/5 if the manager actually cared.
The apartment is clean when I moved in. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The office people assisted me prior to my move in effectively. The amenities in the apartment are working well. I feel safe in this place. - From a verified resident on ApartmentRatings
Brook View is a hidden gem. The neighborhood is beautiful .. community very friendly... Leasing Staff is very attentive and professional. A wonderful bonus is local wildlife. Seeing a group of 11 deer in the city is different for sure, however, something beautiful to see. - From a verified resident on ApartmentRatings
Originally loved the thought of my apartment and plotted on being a resident years before ever moving in following a visit to someone at a nearby complex. The exterior alone had me sold. I loved the double patios, one of which is off the master. Now, upon ending our first year and into our second, we suddenly have a rodent and pest issue. We’ve now caught 4 mice. I was overjoyed after catching the 3rd as maintenance had come to “plug holes” and pest control laid traps only to have another siting that took forever to catch shortly thereafter. I’ve just seen a 5th mouse after the 4th was finally caught and I’m really annoyed now. As if the invasion isn’t frustrating enough, I have small children who have a bunkbed that I’ve discovered droppings on. Even made the rental office aware that around the time I seen the first 2 mice, we had been seeing fleas as well… we have no pets. While I understand it is winter time, this is absolutely ridiculous. Before ever seeing any mice, I asked that gaps under our baseboards be closed. So quarter paneling was placed along one wall, only for there still to be space underneath them. There are lots of holes and way too much space under baseboards, as they don’t meet the floor, and there are many other large spaces that have yet to be addressed. Rather than repair a massive opening behind our stove, copper mesh was stuffed there and that is clearly doing nothing. As if mice aren’t enough, there are now roach sitings that had never been a thing for over a year. It began with catching 1 crawling from under our stove every now and then to us needing to aggressively stay on top of cleaning and putting things away or we know for sure we’ll see a few. Recently had our dishwasher replaced and baby roaches swarm it if it is not running. The living conditions have plummeted out of no where and enough isn’t being done about it. Aside from this, the neighborhood is beautiful! Nice, quiet and a sight to see in any season. Only wish there were lighting placed in rooms and the bathrooms had ventilation and outlets. Literally the only other complaints. Pest control just really needs to be taken more seriously when requests are given and apartments should be properly prepped before residents are set to move in. Probably wouldn’t be dealing with this if ours was.
The place is great don’t get me wrong but it has safety concerns. 1. Someone got seriously injured across the street. 2. People have got robbed in the area 3. Someone just tried to break into my car and I had to chase them. We as a community have asked for security to patrol our complex and no attempt has been done to get security.
I have been a resident for around three months. I was impressed with the ease of move in process, and the office team was professional throughout. The community is nice. I feel safe here. Coming from living downtown, I especially like the open, free parking with no assigned spaces or anything like that. My only complaints would be as mentioned in many other reviews the walls are very thin. I hear my neighbors often and had to politely ask them once to keep music down. Other than that, it's a great place to live.
Beautiful landscape and great size apartment for the area. Staff are very friendly and professional and maintenance is also on top of things. I love my apartment but the neighbors and the smoking habits have been a challenge for me. I’ve had two sets of neighbors w smoking issues since I’ve moved in and no matter what I do because the walls are thin, the smoke travels. I have heath issues that the smoking does affect so may be looking to lease elsewhere in the future. But other than that beautiful place to be,
Safe neighborhood, well maintained and proximity to downtown and 695 is super convenient. Maintenance team is very prompt and courteous. I’ve lived in 10+ apartments and Brookview is definitely the best place I’ve rented.
EDIT: Have to change my rating - the walls are so incredibly thin, and some neighbors are very loud. I haven't slept a full night of sleep without having to move from one room to the other to avoid noise from either up, around, down, etc. neighbors since I moved here in January. The community is a nice and staff is nice, but if you want sleep or to be able to hear your own tv over your neighbors’ this place doesn't work. The walls and ceiling are beyond thin. You will hear everything your neighbors say and do, and if you get loud ones on any side of your apt it will be impossible to avoid the noise. I'm very frustrated w/ the noise situation here due to such thin walls.
We moved to Brookview in 2015, and move out in 2019 due to new job. We enjoyed the 4 years we spent here. This community is great! We can see deers almost everyday when we walk our dog. No rat, no cockroach. The apartment is super clean. We strongly recommend it! ———— Update in 2020 ———- I only knew this is a great place to rent when we moved out from Brookview in 2019. After one year renting in Lerner’s Oxford in Montgomery county, I realized that Brookview is not only great, it is actually the best! I should not take this as granted. During the past year, I learnt that there are very dishonest landlords in the market. It is not common for a management team to be this great as Brookview. And I felt so lucky that we chose Brookview in 2015.
