If everyone treated customers and did business like these clowns Amazon would have taken over the world 30 years ago. Rude, watched them buy a tool set from a kid that didn't know how to operate anything but the flashlight or what any of the tools were for. Obviously stolen but apparently owning a pawn shop gives you a license to buy stolen goods. F this place and the guys in it. They should all be in prison like anyone else that deal's in stolen goods. Not to mention ripping of everyone who is unfortunate enough to have to do business with them. They know the people are in a tight spot so they give them pennies on the dollar and sell the stuff at full on retail. 0 stars with 5 for the staff and business.
Had a very interesting experience at Buckeye pawn shop came in with two brand new items still in the box they asked for a receipt show them a receipt and still didn’t want the item. Not sure if I’m being discriminated against.... Of course it was explained to me that’s their policy and it is an area of town where I’m sure people are trying to sell them stolen items but you asked for a receipt and I showed you an actually receipt and you still don’t want it. So just got a weird taste in my mouth about the interaction, store was clean very organized and had a lot of items to buy from. Only reason for the 2 stars
Dont swipe your cards here. John told me I could put a gun in Layaway for $50 out of $300 and instead charged me $250 and a remaining balance of $50. When I went back to dispute it John suddenly "doesn't remember saying that and would never only take $50 for a layaway on a $300 total." These people are absolute BottomFeeders with a license to steal. No wonder they're in the pawn business, they have no problem being absolute crooks and taking what isn't theirs.
"We pride ourselves on our professional staff" is hilarious considering every time I've ever stepped foot in this shop the staff is extremely rude and saying that they aren't very friendly or nice is an extreme understatement. The shop is very well organized and fairly clean, but it can't make up for the poor service. They are also a rip off. They offer unfair prices for items you want to sell, and wax their customers on items they are selling. I strongly suggest going somewhere else.
As a musician who stereotypically relies on pawning my gear on a regular basis to keep the bills paid, these guys have become my place of choice to deal with. The manager has been there for at least the 10 years or so I have been going there and has always been as fair as possible to me by reasonable pawn shop standards. No, you won't get the full used market value of your item. You won't get that from ANY pawn shop or used retailer. If you want that, you'll need to sell the item yourself to a private party. But if you understand how the industry works and you're in need of some quick cash and maybe don't particularly want to actually "sell" your item, I would say these guys are totally fair and professional with their business practices.
They guy with the long hair needs to work on his customer service. He gave me the vibe that he didnt want to be bothered with me as soon as i came up to him. He gave me an attitude because i told him what another pawn shop affored me for my almost 900 dollar flute and he didnt want to negotiate.
My first and last visit to this wretched establishment was an experience I will not soon forget. These guys are clearly watching too much reality television. Lousy service and a bunch of junk products combined with a staff that will surely belittle you with the intent to intimidate you or make you feel sub-human. For the record, this approach is never a successful real world business model. I watched three individuals basically get shamed out of the door and that's before my own ordeal. Lose the ego and wannabe bad boy persona and serve your customers.
The guy with rotten teeth behind the counter was extremely rude to my wife when he offered her $150 for my $2100 ROG Gaming laptop. He tried to say he could only get $300 if he sold it. The battery in it ALONE is worth more than any of the Windows XP antiques they're selling in this place. Uneducated and horrible service.
Don't pawn firearms here they won't give it back to you unless you buy one of their trigger locks tried to say it's a law but it's not.
I purchased a ring about 3 years ago at the Harrisburg Pike Buckeye Pawn for $1200 appraisal done by high street. I asked for an appraisal they suggested I take it to Buckeye pawn shop on South High Street so their jewelry expert could look at it, which I did. The manager fat guy looked at it for 3 seconds and handed it back to me and said its a piece of crap from Zales barely worth $300 I threw a fit and talked to the real jewelry guy there about what happened and he said no its worth much more than that and that he was sorry. I found out from a real appraiser that it's vintage and worth $7,000. The High street store is crooked, they are thieves, liars, uneducated and I don't think they know anything about jewelry. WORST PAWN SHOP EVER! !! Don't pawn your items there, don't buy from there, and don't get your jewelry appraised there.
