Café Provence

This is rated as one of the top 10 French food in the US by some magazine. So being a foodie here I am. The service was nice. Gave us some good recommendation on food and wine. I ordered a cheese plate, 2 fish dishes, and a dessert. I am going to say that everything is well prepared, and taste good. It was quite salty though, especially the sea bass. However, nothing is like wow, this place is top 10 kind of experience. Plus you would think that one of the top 10 would be a Michelin Star but this one is not. So please take a big grain of salt in these ratings...

Being that it was in my Neighborhood I have always wanted to try it. Only was able to recently everything tasting amazing. Though it is up there in price the atmosphere is still nice and comfy. I can’t wait to come back for lunch some time and sit outside. Though I would suggest to get a reservation a head of time especially for dinner.

Started with the French Onion soup, which was delicious and highly recommended. Pieces of bacon add a new twist to one of my favorite soups. Main course was the filet mignon which was cooked perfectly. Everything about my first time here was memorable. If you haven't been, it's a must to experience! You won't be disappointed!

My husband and I have gone to Cafe' Provence many times over the years with very good experiences each time. We went for lunch on1-22 for a special occasion. The food was good, but the service we received was horrible. Our server was an older lady, who showed impatience from the minute we sat down (including rolling her eyes at us several times), asked for a larger tip..which in our 60 plus years on this earth has NEVER happened, and basically shoved us out the door with her horrible attitude bc lunch hours had ended and she obviously wanted us to be done and gone. We will probably return again for the delicious food, but the service we received was very disappointing and kind of ruined a special occasion for us. We truly hope that never happens again.

Hidden gem in Prairie Village. Excellent service and a great selection of traditional French fare. The foie gras is a must try!!
