Cajun Kitchen Cafe

Let me start by saying I love this place. My favorite for brunch or lunch after church. The menu has delicious Cajun, breakfast, or sandwiches options. Downtown parking is inexpensive and plentiful. My favorite menu item is the California eggs Benedict with a poinsettia to drink. My only complaints would be the service hasn't been the best the last few times. My husband and I used to be servers; we are pretty easy customers but find we are sitting there for a long time waiting on the check, etc. Also the kid's menu is lacking healthy options. I don't want this to overshadow that almost every time I've gone I loved it. The patio is great for sitting if the weather is nice.

After living in New Orleans and Houston, I can safely say there is nothing Cajun about this place. Blah. I always start with red beans and rice and honestly, I can cook better. It's good for a regular standard breakfast - but it's not even remotely authentic. Decor is ugly - cheap.

Great food, good customer service! If you like homestyle comfort food and really good coffee, then this is the place for you!

Wonderful place! Specialized breakfast as it's not just a eggs and pancake house. The location is nice to start a afternoon walking around downtown. 4 stars as there are an abundance of breakfast houses in Ventura and, in my opinion, ranks third behind Allison's and Cafe 126.
