Uncle Darrow's

I have had better new orleans-style food but I make it a point to support black businesses. The gumbo needed a lot of work I will stick with the fried food. I did appreciate the bar area that had the pre-made frozen drinks very tasty

This was my first visit to Darrow’s New Orleans Grill. I was visiting from Arizona and a friend suggested we meet there for lunch and a business meeting. Our dining experience was superb from start to finish. The staff was friendly, welcoming, attentive, efficient, and highly professional. Our meal was awesome! The food portions were generous, and the quality and taste were outstanding. The atmosphere is casual, open, and has a wonderful New Orleans’s look and feel. Not to mention the full bar  During our visit, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Norwood. He is a delightful man who is PASSIONATE about customer service and highly knowledgeable about the restaurant industry. The Uncle Darrow’s team philosophy on customer service is you are considered family, not customers, when you dine with them. I can truly say, we felt like family. The next time you have a craving for a unique, downhome Louisiana cuisine dining experience, I highly recommend Darrow’s New Orleans Grill.

LOVE LOVE LOVE, the moment we walked in the door we were greeted with smiles and offered tastes of the food. you can tell it has a "where everyone knows your name" kind of vibe, super cool. The food itself is amazing. No fuss, just delicious food. I had just the week before mentioned to a friend that I keep trying all these new places for amazing fried chicken but they all had been very lackluster, this chicken though is the thing of fried chicken dreams lol. Its beautifully seasoned with the perfect crunch and still moist on the inside. I got potato salad and beanbalaya (a combo of the red beans and jambalaya) for my sides, both were delicious. My family got the gumbo, and the brisket po boy. The gumbo has just the right amount of spice and good portions of everything inside. The brisket is so tender and delicious, it almost melts in your mouth. Definitely try this place it's amazing.

Fish, shrimp, and oysters were very good. Potato salad OK and greens were not cooked long enough. Over all very good. I will come back!
