Camp Deerhorn

Camp Deerhorn is one of the greatest places on earth. This summer, being my eighth, I will once again see the faces of people I will care about forever. The popular expression "A home away from home" does no justice to the amazing experience everyone receives while at Deerhorn. Waking up to the sounds of laughing campers, the slam of the cabin door as the cabin members go in and out, and the beautiful sounds of the north woods of Wisconsin is never taken for granted. A summer up here is what you make of it, and if you come with a positive attitude, the people up there will be your friends forever.

Camp Deerhorn is one of the greatest places on earth. I personally spent 8 years as a camper and another 5 on staff. It's one of the rare opportunities to spend quality time in the outdoors away from technology, while developing relationships that will last a lifetime. Not only are the directors and staff one of the groups of people I've ever known, but they put everything they have into making each summer the most fun summer of every campers life. It's shaped who I've grown up to be and I wouldn't trade my time there for the world. If everyone could spend a summer at Camp Deerhorn, the world would be a far better place.

Camp Deerhorn has served as my second home during the summers. I was lucky enough to spend eight amazing summers at the best camp on earth. I was able to experience activities that I would never have been able to try outside of camp. The staff members are amazing and make every camper feel comfortable and welcomed. I have made amazing friendships that I will always cherish. Camp helped positively guide me to become a more true and pure spirited person. Camp Deerhorn has given me memories that I would not trade for anything in the world. Thank you Camp Deerhorn!

Deerhorn is more than just a summer camp. Most of my best friendships were forged while at camp. It's far more than just sports and games, it's a lifetime of companions and some of my fondest memories. I would strongly recommend Deerhorn to any parent considering sending their son off to camp. Where else can you ride a horse, sail a boat, build a sand castle, shoot a bow and arrow, and make a friend forever all in the same day? Hook em' horns hook em'!

Camp Deerhorn is truly a home away from home for me. I couldn't imagine a more incredible place to spend my summers either as a camper or counselor. Deciding to come to Deerhorn my first year was definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made. It is unlike any other experience that really allows you to become more independent and learn very important life lessons. Everyone at Deerhorn really feels like family to me and I could never have asked for more.
