Capitol Plaza Hotel Topeka

Was attending an event next door at the Expo, so perfect to stay at this property. The a/c was not working properly, and it was 90 degrees outside. They worked on the a/c twice in my room, helped a bit, but not enough to keep the room cool. The restaurant was good, the food was good and so was the service. The bar was right next door in the lobby along with the restaurant. I ended up checking out early, because they could not get my room cool enough, and they did not charge for one the day I left. I was very disappointed that I could not finish my stay, I was really looking forward to staying here. The management was very understanding and super nice. I would stay here again, but I would be sure to find out if the a/c issue had been resolved.

Great room. Great restaurant dining experience. Every employee we came in contact with was super nice and professional. Military discount isn't extended to all rooms, so don't expect it. I rented a corner suite ... no military discount. Why advertise this perk at all?

The Hotel and meeting center sits at the corner of the expo center and provides direct access. The pool was nice, only four and a half feet deep, but nice all the same. The hot tub was semi functional, It didn't produce a lot of froth and bubbles but was nice and hot. The rooms are nice and comparable to the Ramada Inn hotels. Book well in advance of any event if you wish to stay here during or afterward.

Had a really nice stay at the Capitol Plaza. Parking seemed a little crowded. They have a great restaurant and a bar area. The room was clean well capped maintenance seem to be a top priority everything seem to be in order. Extra pillows are available upon request. They even have an area downstairs where you can buy Necessities that you may have left behind as well as a little area. The bed was comfortable and sheets were clean and crisp.

I am a night owl. So the fact that I checked in around 8pm, left then returned around 10 pm, hung out in the hall watching all the shanagins going on ( prom, air guard ball) chatting with friend ( in other room) taking to husband ( at home) having A few drinks returning to me room around 2am to take a shower and called it a night, in was appalled at the bathroom. I took pictures of the hair on the counter, in corners, hanging on bathtub, and the Bobbie pins in toilet, and pearl beads of sorts on the floor.. . Not at all impressed. Went downstairs talk to night clerk. Got an apology, offered a new room. Good for you Capital Plaza, but not good enough.. While looking at pics know that I have blond hair. (Agency I book through made things right, all I got from Capital Plaza was an apology)
