Place is small, quaint, not a big selection but there is some variety. I got big plate, the pieces of jerk chicken and two sides. Mine was red beans and rice and mac n cheeses with wings. The meat was so tender and juicy, flavored all the way through, no hotsauce needed!!! Red beans and rice on point, had a hard time not finishing (told my sister I would save her some, my mistake) . Mac n cheese was okay, but nothing to brag on. All food, bottle of water and can soda a little over $13...not bad

Excellent food at a family run local business. Very authentic. Very tasty. I had the jerk chicken, the plantains, green beans and cornbread. All too notch and fresh. I will be back.

I used to love visiting this restaurant a few years back. When I visited, I only had experiences with the woman who owned the place and she always fixed me up and gave me good portions. I visited recently and the food was okay, but slightly cold. It was not good enough to warrant the experience and the price tag of $30.
The lady before me only ordered one of the small $9 dinners & also got her sides as mac n cheese & spinach rice which are my favorites. She got a huge portion of each when she went through the line. When I saw her plate, I was getting excited thinking I would get similar, tons of food. When the lady started putting our food onto our plates, I was immediately disappointed.
The woman before us got a giant spoonful of rice, while the woman doled it out for us and didn't even fill one spoonful full. The other woman also got one side of mac & cheese that was so large, that when I ordered double mac, I still got less of a portion than her.
I actually wanted spinach rice too, but the lady gave me such little mac & cheese compared to the woman before me, that I had to double up on the side to even get the same amount. What bothered me the most is the woman before me was only paying for one of the small $9 meals, while I paid for 2 meals which were the larger dinners ($10.99 each instead of $9.)
Even with paying for more, I STILL got less than the woman who bought the cheaper plate. I don't want to sound like I'm miss piggy, but don't make the portions so obviously and visibly inconsistent like that. Give people what they pay for. It shouldn't be so drastically different for each paying customer.
Why not at least give larger portions to the people who buy the bigger plates? Maybe it was just an accident or something, but this is why I don't like cafeteria styled restaurants like this. The consistency is not there. If they don't care about you on an individual level, or if they're having a bad day, then they probably aren't gonna give you your money's worth.

My friend from Jamaica was in town and wanted me to try some food from her country. We got the goat, mac n cheese, rice and beans. It was awful. No flavor. She said this is not the way it is supposed to taste at all. Plus, lunch for two was $30 !!!! I would go to McDonalds or something. At least it would have some flavor.
