Went to a few other historic places this week (Oakland Manor and Carnton house) the Carter house was my favorite. The tour guide was amazing! You could really tell she loved the history and wasn't just reciting from a script she memorized. It was a very informative tour and a must if you're in the Franklin area.

Fascinating historic site of a family house that was in the center of the battle of franklin. The house tour is a must-the tour guide Rusty was a great storyteller and very passionate about the subject. They even let you step to the basement where the families hid during the battle. I will return with guests.

This was a very interesting story that comes with this house. If you tour here, you must also go across the street to the Lotz house. Ask about the tour package that includes both houses and a third site. But make sure you have all day or at least 4 hours to see everything. We only made it to the two houses (which is why I don't remember what the 3rd site was).
