What a wonderful place to take your family! We go often and always find new things to learn. It's a free museum, well maintained and friendly staff. We love going here.

Great place to spend an afternoon with my kids. We like to come every so often just for fun. There's no entrance fee and it's filled to the brim with information. My 4 year old loves it and my 14 year old asks to come back! Can't wait to visit the museum in its new location once it opens.

This place is so much fun... and when I went... Free!! Great place to take your kids for a fun day at a local museum. Awesome interactive exhibits, along with very helpful staff.

Enjoyed my visit. Huge space with many exhibits. I was surprised when it was free! The section about slavery was a similar size to the section about gunsmithing which seemed odd. The civil war section was very interesting!

The museum is free but parking is not. Prepare to pay a good amount for parking or find cheap parking and walk/uber. The museum was okay, but not great. It could use more interactive features. They are in the process of preparing to open the new Tennessee State museum later this year so some items have already been pulled out to prepare for the move. It's a good day trip with the kids if they are old enough to read the displays and interested in history. If not, you may spend your time there listening to kids ask how much longer.
