A beautiful place to sail in Colorado. The club has exceptional facilities for club members use, a challenging and active race schedule, a very affordable Junior Sailing program and camps, and a very fun and entertaining social calendar! The club members are friendly, helpful and show a variety of sailing levels. They offer free sails in June around the Summer Solstice called "Sailstice". What a great way to spend 7 months!

Joined CLSC in spring 2009 as a way to get some time on the water and get back into sailing. Welcoming club and a great place to keep my sailboat in a slip during the summer.. Slip fees are reasonable and it's a great place to sail and have fun during the summer. If there is no wind it is also a great place to kayak and or fish.
Highly recommend this sail club and lake.

Carter Lake is one of the best venues for sailing on the Front Range.
The water in Carter comes out of Granby, which originates in Rocky Mt. National Park, so it is always clean and fresh.
The lake is nestled in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies, so winds can be little fluky at times, but since the lake has fewer powerboats than some of the other front range lakes, it seems to have less chop.
The sail club is a fun bunch of easy going people. Racing at Carter can be as intense or as low key as you make it. You won't find any snooty "yachties" here, it really is a "Sailing Club" not a "Yacht Club".
If you have kids, the club runs a sailing summer camp or Jr. Sailing program in July, check it out.

We just signed up as new members of CLSC with our Capri 22. Everyone is warm and welcoming. Our kids already love it here. The lake will be a great summer destination for our family.
