China Star

This used to be my favorite Chinese in Iowa City, but I'm the last year, the chicken quality has been less than good. Still good price and convenient for work lunch. They do not accept anything but can though.

This is my favorite place in town to get Chinese food. It's good food at a low price. I order chicken and broccoli with steamed rice. That meal is $5.75 and it's enough to fill me up, which is saying something, because I like to eat a lot.

Good Chinese food. Great for take-out or a quick bite while in downtown Iowa City. I like their appetizers including egg rolls and great egg drop soup. The beef and broccoli is tasty. The sesame chicken is great for kids since it is sweet and not to spicy. They also offer hot pots. They are located inside Old Capitol Town Center which offers the first hour of parking free in the attached parking ramp.

This is our go-to Chinese takeout in Iowa City. We love China Star for their consistently and value. You can’t go wrong with their generous lunch combo for under six dollars. The Kung Pao Chicken, Lo mein, and egg rolls here are the best in town. They also serve a wide variety of authentic dishes.

I enjoy what I get there and think the service is fast and affordable for the amount of food you’re given.
