It's closer to home than NOLA. It is the Vietnamese Mahayana tradition of Buddhism, but meditation  is encouraged here. As a westerner I enjoy coming here to meditate on Buddha's philosophy as I work my way towards enlightenment. Enter peacefully. Remember to take your shoes off before entering the indoor pagoda. Donations are accepted but never required. Leave feeling mindful and aware of your actions.
