Churchill's Gastropub & Taphouse

Churchill's Bar and Grill it's one of the Premier bro in the middle of Bay Street. It's classic look and feel, definitely gives you the feeling of old-time Savannah. Owned and operated buy a very wealthy and enthusiastic guy of Australian decent. He definitely keeps the kitchen very up to code and in order. Helps Preserve historical figure of the building. The restaurant gives you a wonderful experience Eva Savannah culture. From the Great food to any drink you can think of, really one of the wonderful places to experience Savannah. The staff is wonderful, very enjoyable place to take the kids or take your wife out for a night on the town. It's been in Savannah for a very long time, it's definitely not going nowhere. I would have to say what are the best bars and places to eat, in Downtown Savannah on Bay Street

Good selection of beverages and delicious menu. The shrimp & grits were perfection! My husband ordered the fish and chips..very good & a large portion. Our server was attentive & the food came out right away. Love the atmosphere of the Pub. Very nice and affordable. Next time I’ll try the rooftop bar.

Chose this place for the rooftop dining. Although not a bad atmosphere by any means don’t expect music or a view or anything more than bare minimum service. Our server took 10 minutes to fetch a beer due to chatting up the dudes next to us for ages.... she exchanged maybe 15 words with us, misinformed us about the menu, and never checked on our table. It was awkward how stand off she she was with us, walking away before a single question can be asked, while having a blast with the next door table and playing on her phone the rest of the time. If you like good or even decent service (advice may not apply for small groups of young men), I don’t recommend it. Food was pretty good though.

Churchill's has always been known for outstanding fish and chips. While I considered other options I ended up ordering fish and chips. It is exceptional. There is plenty of white fish inside. It is a filling dish. My dining companion ordered the meat loaf which is also delicious. The bread pudding with a sweet syrup over it is heavenly. As a pub and as a restaurant it is very good. It also has outdoor rooftop dining which is great fun. Finally I should note that it has plenty of attentive wait staff.

Arrived in Savannah late, limited options that weren't Waffle House. They had a delicious burger, that they cooked to order without the bun, with extra vegetables, pickles, tomatoes and lettuce. They also prepared a delicious salad to pair with it, near 11PM. Service was good, and atmosphere was not "bar like" at all. I enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere.
