As long as you have all the correct/valid documents with you, there should not be any issue. I made an appointment a few weeks back, and when I went inside the building around 11 a.m on Friday, this very friendly security guard greeted me and gave clear instructions on what to do and which window to go. There were not that many people when I was there, so I didn't have to wait more than 3 minutes to talk to the Korean staff at the window. The entire process took about 15-20 minutes for me.
Very disappointed. Was denied entry for the first time in August because an online appointment is needed not indicated anywhere on the website. No appointment available until two weeks later. When I showed up the second time the officer asked for way more supporting documents than what’s listed on the website, e.g. bank statements for the past three months, round-trip air tickets, copies of past Korean visa stamps and college diploma, etc. To avoid further hassle I gave up my application. There’s only one window to process visa application 2 weeks processing time and it’s first come first serve. Very unorganized and inefficient.
I visited during lunch time and there was no one waiting. It took 10min to apply for a new passport and they OFFER a free photo shoot for your new passport so don’t waste your money like me! I took my passport photos at some CVS and the lady didn’t take it because of the photo’s quality. They said it was too dark to use CASH ONLY as well! When they say bring a $6.70 stamp, it means you need to buy an envelopecheck the photos that I posted from the Post office NOT JUST A STAMP. Please double check before you go there. Call them and ask if you want. The lady who helped me was very nice, fast, and very helpful! So I’m giving them 5 stars. Thank you for your service!
Why are they taking 3 hours lunch break? Tell me how you are draining tax money without telling me how you are wasting the tax money.
I was surprised by their fast, kind, and flexible service when I renewed my passport. I could find a parking spot located behind the building without any problem when I was their on Monday afternoon at 2pm. It was totally different from my impressions I had in the consulate general of Korea in Atlanta several years ago.
I had a very good experience with this consulate. The staff was very polite and very nice. I was able to submit my VISA application and documentation very quickly. My total time in the office was less than 20 minutes. The office looks like it has some facilities to assist you like printers, copiers and what looked like a photo booth for "current" photos. I did not need to use these facilities so I do not know if there is a cost to use them. It was just a nice surprise to see them there to help people who may not have had access or knew they needed, "one more thing." I did try to use a Mastercard to pay for my application and I was told they accept VISA and AMEX. So if you only have a MC bring cash.
Employees were courteous and helpful. Also, it was nice that they provide free photo service and free copying and printing. Place was also clean and well maintained. Renewing passport was easy process. Only thing to remember is if you want your passport mailed to your home, you have to bring your own stamp/postage.
One of the worse experiences I’ve ever had! I actually went there in 2015, I had been meaning to leave this review because it was so horrible, but now I’m finally getting around to it. Even after 5 years, I remember the unbelievably rude and unhelpful man that worked there. I went because I needed to process some official documents to send to S. Korea. The middle aged man who was working at the window was super rude and unfriendly. He couldn’t care less about the work he was doing, and I almost felt like I was being discriminated for some reason, because I couldn’t believe he would treat everyone this way. I traveled almost an hour to get there and he was not helpful at all. When I had missing documents, he didn’t even let me know specifically what I needed to prepare. He just said he couldn’t do it because I didn’t bring everything and then just sent me off, not letting me ask any questions. When I got back home I had to call the office again to clarify what I needed to bring next time because he barely gave me enough information about what I was missing. The lady who answered the phone call was friendly and clearly informed me of what I needed to bring. Since I couldn’t give 0 stars, let’s just say the one star is for the lady who answered the phone.
Friendly helpful security guard. Lady behind the visa application window - not so much. Very unhelpful, and poor English. Very frustrating
Went around 2pm to get my passport renewed. There were very few people and the lady named Shin Mi Sun was very friendly and helpful. I was in a situation where I had to get my passport quickly because I had to go abroad and it was expiring at the end of this year. When the lady heard this, she went out of her way to help me get my passport as fast as possible. You guys are great, thank you!
