Absolutely ridiculous process. No one helps anyone. Cannot get anyone on the phone to give any guidance. Their website has to be one if the WORSt formatted sites.out there, totally confusing and never get the right answer. Sent emails, phone calls, all to dead space. Make appointments and then get there after being in NYC traffic for hours, only to be told, that everything is wrong, well of you would pick up the phone and give guidance. .IT would NOT be wrong!!! What a bunch of INEPT people that work there. The best was the doorman, who says, 'dont hold your breath' this is what tax dollars pay for???
I called here to get some answers because the Houston location isn’t answering their phones or replying to emails all of a sudden. One month ago communication was easy. Now it seems almost impossible to speak to someone about our missing passport. I called this location to reach out for help but received a very rude lady on the phone who told me I shouldn’t bother her and to call Houston instead. I tried to ask if she could help call them for me and she was very rude about it. Enjoy your miserable life.
Very helpful, professional, easy going staff. Thank you again
Tried calling for weeks on end during their business hours, no response. Sent emails for weeks, no response. Finally, a man picks up and shamelessly tells me that it could take a month and a half to get a visa for a trip that is now taking place in 3 weeks. I get an appointment days before my trip. I complete all of the BS medical tests, fill out the application, drive all the way to DC. The man tells me he cannot approve my application because: A: I don't speak Greek, which shouldn't be surprising since I live in America B: My doctor electronically signed my paper, not hand signed., which shouldn't be surprising since we are not living in 1950 anymore. C: There's a section on the website under "Greek Nationals" that has a requirement of an FBI background check. I am not a Greek National, so I did not get an FBI background check. The man rudely accused me of not reading through the website. This embassy is the bane of my existence. It ruined my plan to work at my friend's business all summer. The people who work here should be ashamed. I am far more Greek than they are.
Legendary service and amazing politeness. Mr. Yorgos and other staff were not only kind but also put a lot effort to make sure I can get my Schengen visa in time. I appreciate this as a Turk and will spread the news of your amazing hospitality. Yamas
We are from California and our embassy doesn't pick up any calls. I called the embassy in DC and I was able to get in touch with Terri. He went above and beyond to help us. He got in touch with the Embassy in LA, explained them our problem we bought non-refundable tickets and really needed an appointment before our trip and helped us get an appointment in California itself. He even called us back the next day to make sure we got everything we were looking for. Very good customer service by Terri.
I haven't actually visited yet but I do have an appointment. It took several months because the phone is not answered in the visa department, nor email. However, yesterday when I placed my 11th call of the day to the Embassy, a lovely helpful woman answered and set an appointment for me. UPDATE- I attended my appointment and had a very good experience! Also found Embassy Row surprisingly interesting.
My son compiled all of his materials for a visa application and was treated incredibly rudely by the visa officer and his entire staff. It was so disappointing for a 16 year old who is interested in learning about Greek culture to be treated so inhospitably. Poor representation of the country as a whole.
They answered my calls and my emails. I had a very good experience for visa application. The process is somehow inconvenient & unnecessary paperwork requests. Parking issue: to avoid, go there 30 minutes earlier so you can park nearby otherwise, pay for parking & take a taxi to the embassy. Thank you Greece!
i think Greece Embassy does not want to any tourist I just call them to get some information about visa and visa requirements my first call answered from one lady I explained her she said one moment she connect me another department I waited almost 10 min after I hang up phone and I called again this time another lady I assume answered phone she was really rude. I mean really RUDE first of all she does not know how to say Please. secondly I m asking question she did not listen carefully she did not let me finish my sentence our conversation me: hi I would like to get information about visa process? she : what do you wanna know? me: first of all I m green card holder can I apply to visa from here ? she : which state? me Virginia she: yes you should go Washington dc embassy me : what should I bring ? she: we have a web site write down bla bla bla me : I know your web site but... she just cut my sentence she: why are you asking me then ? me :because there is no information about requirements or I couldn`t find why are you so rude and annoying? she :yes...... ?????
