My wife and I took an overnight trip and stayed here. Reserving the room was easy and working with Mona was a breeze. The overnight stay was relaxing and breakfast was amazing! The location was great, we really enjoyed walking down to the Blackstone District for dinner. We will definitely be staying here again and have been recommending it to all of our friends!
Let me be clear, I thoroughly enjoyed our midweek staycation. We had the patio room and having all the windows with tons of light was awesome!! Mona was great at making us feel welcome and accommodating to anything we needed. The room was clean and fun. There was a quirkiness about the place that I enjoyed, but I could see how others might not love. There is a dog. He is very sweet and was not overwhelming. He did, however, get out 2x- which apparently he is not supposed to do and the owner was not around to retrieve him leaving me to chase the dog around the street. Otherwise, we completely enjoyed the getaway and would absolutely go back- dog chasing and all!!
I stayed at the Cornerstone Mansion when I had to go to Omaha for a family emergency. Julie was a wonderful host. She was kind and helpful from the second I walked in. I stayed in the Savannah suite. The room and facilities were lovely. The claw footed tub was wonderful for soaking and relaxing. The mirror and lighting were not the best, but this was a very minor issue and not unexpected for the authentic antiques in the bathroom. There was a makeup mirror in the bathroom as well. The towels were fresh and soft. I enjoyed the breakfasts with conversations with Julie and the other guests. The house is fabulous! I loved the furnishings and little decorative touches. This place has a wonderful character and is a great value. I have stayed in a B&B many times. This is one of the top two I have ever stayed in. I would highly recommend it!
We enjoyed an overnight stay at the Cornerstone Mansion. It's a beautiful old house that has been carefully updated in a way that retains its charm and grandeur. There are many room options to choose from; each one is beautiful and cozy. We stayed in the Charles Room, which was the original home office of the master of the house. It is a stunning mahogany paneled room with many original features including a beautiful mosaic fireplace located at the top of the mansion. The proprietor is a lovely woman, very knowledgeable about the mansion who took time with us and our questions about the place. We would visit again! And highly recommend this place to anyone looking for something cosier than a hotel, with a delicious breakfast to boot. One note on the breakfast-the proprietor made sure to ask and then meet all special dietary needs and concerns for each person staying. We enjoyed biscuits and gravy, coffee, and fruit--all fresh and some of the best biscuits I've ever had.
This was my final stop on my way home after staying in a bunch of motels and hotels while visiting the National Parks. Thought it would be a nice change of pace. It felt like staying with family or friends. The owner and her mother were the nicest people. They wanted to make sure I had everything I needed. Mini fridge up second floor landing had a good selection of snacks and drinks. I stayed in the garden suite. It was newly remodeled. Bathroom still had a few things to finish but nothing that got in the way. Bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet considering it is an old house. I stayed over on a Monday and the whole house was filled. They had said it was very unusual for that to happen. But that didn't stop them from being accommodating to all the guest. When I woke up the next morning I went down for breakfast to find out I was early. They still got me served anyway. If I'm ever in Omaha again, this is where I'll be staying.
I had a birthday party for my young teen aged daughter and her friends. I am familiar with the Cornerstone because I grew up just a block away. It is a truly lovely building and the interior wood and ambiance is exceptional. It was great fun for the girls to be in the atmosphere.. Julie was very kind and offered me a small separate room so I would get a good nights sleep. It was a uniquely restful sleep. The breakfast was quite enjoyable in the exauisite dining room. I have had other visitors stay there and we have always enjoyed the beauty of the building, the service and the feeling of stepping into the gracious past.
Traveling across the country, we wanted to stay in places with "heart" and I hit upon Cornerstone Mansion. It is a beautifully restored historic building and was a great choice for our family. Unfortunately, on the day of arrival I wasn't able to reach the Mansion to tell them we were going to be late. When we finally drove up though, Mona was gracious and generous and offered us a more comfortable space than I'd originally booked. The breakfast was delicious even though Mona had to work around our multiple food allergies. I told Mona about the troubles we had reaching her and I believe she is addressing those issues. I hope she's able to get to the bottom of whatever was going on because she deserves success. The five stars are rooted in the kindness and thoughtfulness of our hosts— Mona and Jack — & I give five stars for Bear
I booked this hotel without reading the reviews and as I read them on my way, I was worried. However, once I arrived, I was confident I made a good choice. The outside is beautifully kept and when you walk inside it is like stepping back in time and it is beautiful! The owner was there to greet us and was very nice. She showed me around and to my room. We stayed in the Fireside room which was originally the master. The room was wonderful and the bathroom was amazing, It has a vanity and a clawfoot tub. Sunday's breakfast was very enjoyable. It is such a different experience staying at a B&B and we loved it. The sheets and towel were soft and smelled fresh. I am honestly surprised at the negative reviews. This house has charm and character. We will definitely be staying here again.
We came to Omaha from Missouri to visit the zoo for Father's Day. We had a lot of difficulty finding bed and breakfasts that would accept children in the past, but Moana from Cornerstone Mansion welcomed us and both of our girls 3 and 10 to come stay! We stayed in the Anna Suite. The atmosphere was beautiful and so was the breakfast Sunday morning. We were treated like family, and will be staying here again!
Not having ever stayed at a B&B, I was a little worried about privacy. We arrived on Wed and had the place to ourselves for two nights. On Fri, the place filled up, but we never saw or heard anyone, except at breakfast. The hostess, Julie, was available every time I needed her and offered wonderful conversation and lots of coffee but never intruded on my husband's and my time together. Staying in the Charles Suite, we felt cozy and alone, which is exactly what we were looking for. If there were any inconveniences they were due to the fact that we were staying in a house built in 1894, and were to be expected, and only added to a wonderful adventure. I was actually impressed with the number of modern conveniences they have implemented without taking away from the charm of the house WiFi, Cable TV, Showers. I would definitely recommend the place and I would definitely stay there again! A must for someone who likes history and the romance of the past.
