Good thing I was just here one evening. This isn't one of their greatest locations. Service was ok. Other guests blocked the entire entrance with their cars, and nobody was there to move them along, and the rooms are in serious need of an update. My closet wouldn't even close as it was more narrow than the hangers! Most of the employees wouldn't engage when I was speaking with them. It was more of a point and move along situation. On a positive note, I slept well, the bed was comfortable, and the temperature held nicely.
My Connecting Flight got canceled and it was 11pm at night. I jumped on the app to find a room to retire from a long frustrating day of travel, where I could recharge and get back to it in the morning. I was able to book a room very easily on the Marriott Mobile App and received a confirmation instantly with all the information I needed to find the hotel and details about my guaranteed room reservation. I couldn't be more loyal to the company, I spent 16 years with Marriott, starting as a part time auditor and moved my way through the ranks up to GM including 7 hotel openings throughout those years. I recently took a detour into the Food and Beverage Services Sector, but remain extremely loyal to Marriott, and greatly appreciate the perks of being a Platinum Elite Member. Upon arrival I stated that I needed to check in and the woman said oh I canceled your reservation I don't have rooms. I said ok and where are you going to send me? She said that ain't my job, I said no actually it is. She then argued with a great deal of confidence claiming that she knew how to do her job and I had to leave. So I did, as it wasn't worth any further escalation, as it was clear nothing could be done at that moment. By then it was almost midnight and after trying 2 more hotels on foot I found the Home2 Suites and paid an extra $70 but I had a place to recharge. Walking a Platinum Member...but not actually Walking them WOW. I called the Platinum line for customer care the next day, a week ago now, as I am entitled to compensation for the night and no effort by leadership to correct this. Maybe this review will be seen by someone helpful? Noteworthy details: Close to CLT
Room was ok but some of the staff were sub-par. Two ladies in the Bistro were quite rude, the guy at the front desk was just clueless and screwed up our charges several times and it's still not sorted out. Booked it so we could park there and fly, but when we returned I called 4-5 times to get the shuttle but no one answered the phone so we ended up in a cab the guy was at the front desk when we walked in, the phone was ringing and he was ignoring it. I will definitely not be staying there again. Just not worth the hassle when there are other choices available. Food & drinks: Overpriced $19 for one glass of white wine ????? Food basically sucked.
I have no major complaints with the amenities here. Room was as expected. We stayed here overnight before an early flight and intended to use the parking and shuttle service. However, as we drove through the parking lot, we noticed multiple vehicles that were broken into. We’re talking glad shattered smash and grabs. The vehicles targeted had the parking hang tags assigned to you by the hotel when you use the parking and shuttle service. Obviously, this is out of the control of the hotel but it should be known by potential patrons. If this continues to be a problem, the hotel should consider working with local police to stop this.
It’s an ok motel but you can’t rely on their shuttle service. At best, it runs every hour. And every time you call them to ask where the shuttle is, they lie and tell you it’s on the way. The last time we stayed there, believe it or not, had lost contact with the driver and had no idea where it was. We ended up taking a cab. Don’t stay here if you plan on taking a shuttle to or from the airport.
My son's experience with this hotel has been nightmarish. His car was removed from the premises on Sunday morning. The hotel has provided zero support investigating if his car was towed or if it was stolen. My son has filed a police report and a stolen vehicle claim with the insurance company, but cannot get the GM to come in and review whatever footage that may have been caught on camera. Additionally, he was forced to stay another night while he investigated what happened to his vehicle, which the hotel did not comp. In fact, he was overcharged for the additional night. He's only been offered an email address to the GM who seemingly opted out of showing up today as the hotel staff said they reached out to him multiple times. I have called the hotel multiple times, Aimbridge HQ, and unfortunately all paths lead to the GM, who to this point has provided no assistance and can only be contacted by email. This is a massive failure in customer service and huge inconvenience to my son.
The rooms were very clean and high quality. I had a king bed tv a little office space and comfortable sofa. My only complain it's on the Restroom not because of the quality or how clean it was but because of the shower it had average pressure and kind of small shower head but for a business trip for 5 days it's was greatRooms: 4/5
Do not stay at this hotel. They are dishonest and hostile. I had reservations for a night stay after a long flight to Charlotte from San Francisco. Our flight was delayed so I called quite early to tell them that my flight was delayed and that I would need them to hold my room. The award for "Most Hostile Hospitality Worker in the World" goes to the man who took my call at 5:18 pm EST on March 28. Mr. Hostility not only refused to hold our room for us, he yelled at me when he informed me that even though my room was prepaid, I would be charged for it again if I arrived after midnight. Yes - you read that right - if you arrive after midnight, even if you call and let them know, they will keep your money that you prepaid for your reservation and they will also charge you again for another night. This literally left us out in the cold. I'm completely soured on this brand and will never stay at another Marriott anywhere else in the world. My complaint is not the first of this kind for this hotel. Read the reviews. They do this over and over again even though they keep responding and apologizing, they have no intention to fix it. They are making a lot of money double booking their rooms. Goodbye, Marriott!!! You were only so-so to begin with - now you are a complete disaster.
Pros: good location by the airport Cons: was double charged for 2 nights somehow and billing department won’t return my calls and hard to even reach front desk. It’s been 2 weeks and numerous messages and no reply. Escalated to corporate office. Rooms are dated Had to switch rooms at 2am because the lock on my original room failed.
Can't say enough about the courtesy we received from Mark I hope that is your name He is fellow Italian and really helped make a hard situation very easy. My family was on the way home from a funeral, our delay made us miss the connecting flight and we arrived at the hotel about 11:00 at night exhausted. The young lady at the front was having difficulties getting us rooms on the same floor and Mark jumped in and helped, encouraged and guided the young lady until the rooms were selected. He then assisted with our meal vouchers and got us our keys. He was the best!
