Cousin's Restaurant & Lounge

This is a review for Eric's Restaurant, which is what is operating in this location. Cousins Restaurant is no longer here. We were surprised when we arrived to find that the restaurant had changed hands, as all the old signage was still on the building. The menu selection is a little sporadic, but the food we had was pretty good. The waitress seemed like she was fairly new and almost looked like one of the customers had just gotten up and decided to start working. This is a pretty good location both directly off the freeway (although not noticeably easy to access) and near many mid-level hotels. I'm sure that once they have a chance to settle in there will be a little more theme to the restaurant, and it will feel a little less sporadic.

Come here often. Locally owned, hires youth so on occasion you will get a new waitress who may need patience but I support that kind of community involvement and care for one another. Definitely a family place, quiet almost small-town diner atmosphere. Always get plenty of food, always good food. Coffee is good, breakfast is filling and flavorful, dinners are great, dessert is a must have. If we ever have a family meet up, we all agree to go here. Accommodates all ages, infants to seniors, and staff have been nothing but pleasant and accommodating for anything we need. Definitely come here often. For travelers, this is right off 74, it's a bit around the corner but worth the stop!

I ordered the full rack of ribs, with a side of mashed potatoes and pickle fries. The ribs were barely cooked, almost cold to the touch, and the barbecue sauce slathered all over it was gross. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant mashed potatoes and not fresh. The pickle fries were good, though. The waitress, Betrim, was very nice and sent the ribs back to be cooked properly. Two minutes later, she returned with the same rack of ribs and they were no warmer than before. Ribs certainly take longer than a couple minutes to cook! She sent it back to the chef a second time, and returned about 10 minutes later. This time, it was decently warm, but still not good enough. Not even safe to eat. At this point, I asked for a box, paid and left. The only positive about this place is the nice waitress and the pickle fries. Horrible experience. Never again!

Good food. I got the chicken parmigiana and I would get it again! I added a picture of my leftovers. Quick, polite service and a cute place.

The service was good the food was very good and a wide variety. I thought the price was very reasonable. And it was not a chain restaurant where the menu is always the same. It was nice to be able to support a local establishment, someone working on the American dream. If I am in that area and have the opportunity I will definitely stop again. I would highly recommend this restaurant to a friend or family member. Also it's a good place for families. It's very nice to have the opportunity to give a positive reference. Most of the time you don't get the opportunity in this world where people say that's not my job. I just wish I lived closer.
