I brought my bike in, bought two top tier tires for $90 total and an inner tube. Including labor and taxes the bill was 128.00. This included a once over tune-up. I got a call, email and text that my bike was ready and they also included the old tires and inner tube. They allow cyclists to work on their bikes in front of the store at no charge and there is complimentary use of the air pumps. It can get busy and sometimes you may wait awhile but that is a bike shop. That's no reason for a one star rating
Nice store with great variety of Trek bikes. Love the t-shirts.
Good enough for me. I got a good deal on a bike I wanted. They did not have it in my frame size in the shop, so I left a deposit expecting to pick it up in two days, when they'd get it from another Manhattan location. It took them 3 days to get it, instead of promised 2 days, but that was ok for me. They fitted the bike with almost everything I wanted on the spot when I came to pick it up. They just did not have the fenders, which I thought they would, no big deal. Staff were plenty knowledgeable and polite.
The store has a nice selection of road bikes, mountain bikes, hybird bikes and children's bikes. If you are a fan of the trek brand you won't be disappointed. They seen to have a large section of those bikes. Customer service is good. I bought some road bike tires from them and they were very helpful.
I stopped in tonight with my husbands daughter and her young kids. The man who helped her Ray was kind and gave her lots of needed information on her tire issue. He was also really amazing with her young kids, allowing them to each try bike ride which made them verrrry happy . I had never r eviewd this shop years back they helped me fill my tires with air I had never used the machine and they were very helpful and patient . My son and I also made a purchase which was priced very reasonably ! All in all a solid 5 stars for these guys !!!!!!!!! Thank you VERRRY much
I was very pleased with my initial experience at the Danny Cycle on 14th St & 1st Ave, where I puchased my Trek Commuter bicycle in 2011. The people their were very nice: always willing to answer questions and go out of their way to service my bike as quick as possible. I felt so sorry when I heard they were forced to closed due to the sky rocketting cost of leasing in that area of Manhattan. I'd felt so comfortable there. This is why I am so surprised of the treatment I've received at the Chelsea store in 6th Avenue and 15th St. It first started when I came in for a tune-up last summer 2016. I was given a receipt itemizing the cost of parts and labor for my disk break repair. I was called in to pick up my bike and when I arrived was given a bill substantilly higher than I'd previously been told. I was then told by a staff member that they had to use extra parts. I asked why wasn't I called before they installed it. They said it was an oversite. I did not like the way this was handled so I refused to pay the excess charge. When I returned this summer 2017, I was told my right break system, and most of my gear system chain, shifters, etc. were shot and had to be replaced; and, to do so, they had to remove and replace that rubber-like tape that covers the handle bars. I was very suprised that all of these things could go bad in one year. But, I accepted it and agreed to pay. The issue I have this time is that the guy who took my bike told me it would be ready "tomorrow." So, the next day I called the shop and identified myself and asked if my bike was ready. I was told that it was and I can come down and get it. When I got there 45 minutes later, it was up on the lift and the guy who'd received my bike the day before tells me that the work had hardly begun. He told me that he doesn't know if it will be done the next day either. I have had bikes built quicker than this. And, instead of being apologetic, he and his co-worker had big grins on their faces like this was some kind of inside joke. I might have been a repeat customer, the kind of clientele that businesses thrive on. For now on, I take my bicycle needs to someone who appreciates me.
This is a great bike shop, especially if you're the type of cyclist who will need to come in repeatedly for adjustments and repairs. The guys are always quick to get my bike fixed and back on the road.
Needed air in my tires, the outside pump didn't have the nozzle I needed...they let me borrow a pump free of charge inside. Extremely friendly staff...Will be getting my tune up here next summer.
Nice small bike rental place. Quality of the bikes are fine but I got a flat after a few miles. Brought the bike to a nearby bikeshop for repairs after the guy from the rental place offered to take care of the costs.
Pablo is the man. Runs a great shop. I bought a Trek 920 from him that got me from Seattle to Cape Cod. Great bike. Great service.
