Dante's has such a cool atmosphere to it! The mixture of people there on a Monday night was really nice to see, the live karaoke sounded GREAT, if a little shrill on the treble. The bartender in the lounge was my favorite, they took great care of us and made us feel welcome. The gender neutral bathroom was a really nice thing to see, but sadly there was no lock on the door so it didn't feel safe at all. I really hope they fix that soon. So very looking forward to coming back for another fun night! Hopefully soon I'll be ready to try karaoke too!
WATERED DOWN BOOZE!! Seriously it was blatant, like they do not care. My wife was 4 drinks in and one was a long island. She's a lightweight and was not even buzzed. Could not taste the alcohol. GREAT show naughty nutcracker but stop stealing our booze money. See for yourself.
In short: excellent small venue space! Cool vibe! Didn't try the pizza, and bear in mind I'm a metalhead. The floor space is enough for a 20 person mosh pit easy, not including the seating area! The bar has 360 access, and the bartenders checked if I needed anything just in case I don't drink. For once I didn't get staff names but they're there to provide an excellent experience and it delivers, can't wait to go see more shows!
They're pizza is always a great choice quick easy and delicious! Make sure you tip if you can but as far as the bar goes the bouncers and some of the bar tenders are too cool for school but I definitely tolerate their super lameness cuz they usually got great music and shows you can't have the best of both worlds I guess
Pretty nice place and good ambiance. I like the shows they host! Normaly decent in pricing for at the door. No parking. And the outdoor patio is a bit small. They at least have pizza and some food carts around the corner. Only had one iffy encounter with a bartender out of all the times we have gone but, I guess everyone has bad days.
One HELL of a show. The acts are on fire, like literally, alt themed fire poi is amazing. This among other acts of dexterity, flexibility and debauchery is a fun time for all, that is if your 21+ Staff is awesome, friendly and helpful. Pizza was a little dry but thats fine, I didn't go for the pizza so not gonna ding for that.
Hands down one of the best bars in Portland, great shows. Sundays sinferno has been a favorite of mine and a fantastic place to take out of town guests for 20 years! Best security in town, always feel safe.
Solid shows, food, service, drinks & live band karaoke - BUT you will go deaf at this venue! I go to quite a few concerts & clubs with loud music, Dante's is the only one my hearing was impaired for a few days after visiting. Love the setting, but make sure you bring your earplugs!
I was treated horribly on NYE. I bought tickets in advance for this event and everything was fine until they asked to see ID and I accidentally dropped my purse, after that the security guard asked where I was coming from. I said “from my home”, my friends and I were getting ready at my place up until that point, we hadn’t gone anywhere else. But the security guard said I was “too intoxicated” and they wouldn’t let me in. I then asked her if she thought that because I had dropped my purse, she then says “you’re becoming aggressive with me and that further proves my point you’re drunk”. I was irritated when she first said I wasn’t allowed in but then to tell me I’m becoming “aggressive” by simply asking what the reason was? I definitely felt targeted and it was so unfair of them to make such a quick decision just because I dropped my purse. I had no issue getting into any other place. And when we said we had bought tickets in advance she said “take it up with wherever you bought your tickets”. I had never been treated so horribly before. I understand having to keep it safe and keeping out the heavily intoxicated for liability reasons but I was targeted for no reason. I will be sharing my experience on social media as well.
Granted, it was New years Eve and very busy. Though my brother stood in line and still had people that showed up after getting served before him and the dj seemed to not have a very diverse genre of music. I still rate this establishment 5 because it had an amazing atmosphere, and it's not fare to rate off of one outing and will definitely be back.
