This is a very comfortable simple hotel, with modest rates. The room that I had didn't have a window; and this suited me perfectly, as I am always trying to get a hotel room dark enough. The little things were in order: the access to the room was easy for my bike; the shower got hot enough; the air conditioner worked well; there were plenty of electrical outlets. The location is great. It is across the street from the Convention Center, and just a couple of short blocks from Market Street. The walk over to the historic district is also very short. This being Center City, there are many good amenities nearby, such as restaurants both formal and fast-food style, bars, a supermarket, a 7-Eleven, a pharmacy. Finally, the hotel's staff is outstanding. Every staff member whom I encountered was helpful. I intend to stay at this Days Inn location again.
We checked into this hotel and it was a little late, plus it was raining so we were exhausted from our travel. The first two rooms that they gave us were still dirty , finally they third room was clean. I also want to mention I never received my deposit back from the hotel, the young girl that works mornings at the front desk has no clue what she’s talking about and basically will just tell you what you want to hear. She also doesn’t seem qualified to be even working there, please hire qualified staff and a mature staff, this hotel has so much more to give being that it’s in a great location. The people who work there, aren’t so great though :
Cozy room, sink is located right outside the bathroom/shower. Window placement a bit odd, next to your room door. If you don’t close the shades people can see right into your sink area. The only bad thing were to bath towels, they had a chemical odor to them when opened up that permeated the room. Front desk was friendly. To enter the hotel you’ll need to ring the door bell or use your room key. Homeless people hanging around nearby.
Pretty terrible room. No microwave. No fridge. Sink is in the main room with the beds. TV gets about 10 channels. No clock. It's about the bare minimum of what you can call a room. And on top of that the fire alarm went off at 0200 for no reason. There's also only one window and it's facing out into the hallway. You can't fully close the bathroom door because of this window.
I got this room through a third-party site i.e. "$80 or less for a hotel in the downtown area!" and then after I got the address was a bit frightened, frankly, by specific reviews I read online here. But, I'm not wealthy enough to forgo the money spent, so I went. And: it was fine! If you are the kind of person who just wants a clean, quiet room that doesn't cost alot where you can fall asleep watching tv and then wake up to start your day this does it. If things need to be new and unblemished, with mints and big lofty robes ---this isn't it. I stayed in room 402. It was what I wanted: queen bed, television, soaps and lotions, clean towels, coffee maker, bathroom and sink, window to outside --all in a smallish but clean room. Sure, things should be updated and there were flaws in the bathtub finish. But, it was clean, if dated, and I heard nobody at night! There's limited basement breakfast offerings -coffee, juice, yogurt, cereal and toast. The location is right downtown --I walked to City Hall and Macy's afterward. The Cauldron, a hilarious bar that offers potion-making lessons, is not too far away. I'd stay here again, especially if they would promise me this room it is true some other rooms do not have exterior facing windows, and there may be variety in their condition. I didn't ask for much, but all my interactions with staff were pleasant. Room keys unlock hotel entrance after 9 or 10p and there is a convenience store right beside the hotel open until 2:30 a.m. I came back to the hotel around 12:30a on a Friday night and stopped in that store and had no unsafe feelings as I entered the hotel. here's an interior shot of the room.
Most unfriendly and dirty hotel I have ever been to. Rude people in reception. I arrived at Phili from California at 12 midnight and had to stay in the street as the receptionist was not available and didn’t open the door. I was given blood stained sheets, which I noticed the next day and when I asked them to change, they simply kept sheets on the chair expecting me to do the home work probably. They take 50 $ as a refundable deposit, at the time of checkout they promise to return it to the bank account but it doesn’t come even after a month. There are beautiful hotels in Philadelphia, this one is the worst with a high charge of 160 $ per night.
Had a conference at the convention center and this was ideally located for half the price of the other hotels in the area. Very friendly staff. Free continental breakfast included bagels, muffins, cereal, fruit, milk, juice and yogurt. It’s an economy hotel so nothing fancy but there was conditioning shampoo, hairdryer, tv, soap, safe, desk, two chairs, nightstands, suitcase holder and a rack on the wall to hang up clothes, free wifi, all that we needed. No fridge. Compared to other economy hotels I have stayed at, I would rate it 4 stars. Room was small but clean and looked just like their website showed different than what some of the google photos show fyi. We had a room with a window, that did lead to some intermittent traffic noise. I sleep with ear plugs and it didn’t bother me. Behind the convention center there were homeless people often. So you could see them from all of the hotels on that street including the more $$$ hotels. So you have to decide if that is a major issue for you in exchange for the convenience of being right by the convention center. It was nice to be walking distance from the Liberty bell area and all of the center and old city attractions. No dedicated parking lot but we parked our car in a lot just a block behind the hotel for $30 per 24h with in/out privileges which was perfect. There were several other lots in the area too but more expensive such as $42/24h. Overall very content with our stay and we would definitely stay there again if ever back at the Philly convention center!
Very sweet staff and great location! There’s also a cat that hangs around the lower level of the hotel and he is the sweetest thing. If you see him walking around don’t be afraid to pet him!!
Great rooms just too much money for one night and they are no where close to being an exclusive type upscale hotel like The Hilton family of fine hotel staying! Truth is the best policy!
