Denver Animal Protection

We saw Pixie on the web site & went to see her thinking she might be a perfect fit. After a long visit at Denver Animal Shelter we decided that our first impressions were correct & we decided to bring her home with us. The procedures at the shelter were efficient and appropriate for humans & animals alike. Pixie is. Unsurprisingly quite stressed and & spent about 45 minutes under the bed before bravely emerging demanding strokes from my wife & myself. Our last cat was strictly a one person animal & my primary concern was finding a cat who would love us both. The Shelter provided us all the information we needed to pick out Pixie who is already proving herself to be everything we need in a pet.

Very caring and friendly. We love our dog now named Boomer he was Zeus @kennel. He definitely found his forever home,!

Huge huge props to Nate at DAS for all the help in adopting my kitty! Everyone there was so sweet and helpful but Nate really went above and beyond to make sure I knew everything going into bringing Honey home. She’s been the perfect addition to my little family!

Awesome place, staff is super friendly and extremely helpful. I went to see a wobbly kitty and as much as I wanted her the staff informed me it wouldn't be a good idea since I have hardwood floors in my house, thank goodness they thought of that because I did not. I looked at another kitty andhe decided I was his human so he came home with me. Very easy adoption process, I hope you guys see this. Claw now named Zoot is doing amazing, he is incredibly well behaved and very smart.

We got one of our kitties here. She's the best addition to our family! Our two boy cats love her! I can tell the shelter took the greatest care of her. Her heart murmur is completely gone! Still mega uncoordinated from the one eye, but we love her unconditionally! Thanks for taking such great care of her!

Everyone at the shelter was very nice and helpful. We adopted Mars now Linus. He's loving his new home and especially his big sister! Thank you for all you do!

Today marks one month since I adopted ‘Hans’ who I have since renamed Rigatoni I cannot thank this shelter and the informative staff enough for all they did to help me bring this little guy home. He is the absolute best and loves his new home as much as we love him! Rigatoni sends big snuggles to all the lovely people at the Denver Animal Shelter!

Things I love about Denver Animal Shelter: Their website is up to date with available and lost dogs, intake date, holds, in surgery, in foster, etc. They give the dog's weight, since it is really hard to tell how big a dog is by a picture. Adoption prices are reasonable, encouraging adoption. Adoption process is smooth and efficient.

This shelter and their employees go out of their way every single day to help the homeless pets in Colorado. They are beyond compassionate and it shows in the care and outreach they provide. We adopted our beloved Gandalf here and will be getting our next fur babies from DAS, as well.
