This place is a hidden treasure and one of my favorite spots in Fairfield county. I have brought Cub scouts here, I have come with my family, and I have hiked alone here. The trails are lovely and well maintained and appropriate for a variety of fitness levels. The parking area gets pretty full, but I have always found a spot (I always come in the morning). I highly recommend printing the trail map off the internet before you come: they never have printed copies available at the trailhead and you will want one!

This is my new favorite place to go when I need to move my feet and feel the sun on my skin. So many miles of trails in a relatively small area, so there's always a chance to be alone with nature. Trees, streams, bridges, birds, a lake, a gorge, scenic overlooks - this place has it all. No pets allowed, though.

Great place for easy short hike or longer fun nature adventure. Easy access, free parking, good for kids

I picked this place to hike because it is the largest unbroken nature preserve in CT that does not allow pets, bikes, or vehicles. The atmosphere was secluded. I kept hearing airplanes, though.
