I've been a customer since 2016 and always had great interactions with Direct Energy. Great customer service and monthly plans. Account is easy to manage online.
If you pay a day late they charge you a $15 fee. Even if there isn't a disconnect order, you still get the fee, and they roll over each month. I didn't notice until the 3rd time it happened and I was only refunded for one month.

2 years after canceling my service, I receive a mark on my credit account from a collections agency. Turns out direct energy billed me for a month after I had canceled my account and then sold it to a debt collector. Fraudulent business. Do not recommend.
