A tourist drives off the highway, gets onto route one and finds a good place to eat. A true adventurer gets on to route 1, then route 1a and then route 103. Just by driving 2 miles further, the adventurer finds a diamond in the rough. A restaurant, on an island (connected by a bridge) with the best views of the York River and Atlantic Ocean, the best service and BY FAR the food in the area. It is a dining experience you will never forget!

The nice view can't make up for the overpriced food. $35 for a fried clam plate that was half full and $23 for a lobster roll that barely had enough lobster to fill the roll.

Good food and views. There is also a seperate tikki bar not attached to the restaurant.

One of my favorite spots on the east coast. From the food to the beautiful views to the super clean rooms to the wonderful staff, this place is top notch. Every morning there is a complimentary buffet breakfast in the old main house on a beautiful sprawling lawn over looking the harbor. You like boating? They own the marina attached to it and you can rent a Boston Whaler for the day. Take a boat ride out to the Isle of Shoals and see seals and whales if your lucky enough. Then end your day at the restaurant with beautiful views and some amazing food. It is family owned for generations and the owners are the heart of this place, they not only work there but there but they are the ones greeting you and showing you to your room and seating you at your dinner table. If you want a laid back experience with 5 star food and customer service, this is the place for you. It is a truly a special place and I can't wait to come back again and again!

We have been going to the Dockside every year for years now and it never fails to exceed expectations. The location is gorgeous, the staff super friendly and the food is always top shelf. And what a wonderful spot for a wedding on the Maine coast! I truly feel at home when I get there, especially when we stay at the Inn which we always try to do every fall. I recommend The Dockside on York Harbor to anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience in southern Maine!
