Five Fifty-Five

What a great menu! Presentation and preparation of food is five star! The menu is varied and constantly changing, which is a foodie I appreciate. My wife and I had not been here in probably 2 years and when we finished, we were asking ourselves why I had been so long since we had last been here. We couldn't come up with an answer other than there are so many great places to eat in Portland. This is going back on our list of Maine State places to eat. While it's not cheap, like anything else in the food world, you really do get what you pay for

We were in Portland celebrating our 10 year anniversary and booked Five Fifty Five about a week prior to our stay after reading a bunch of reviews and we are so thankful that we did. Everything from the location, decor, service, to the food itself represented the absolute pinnacle of both customer service and culinary arts. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, and was tastefully decorated for the upcoming Christmas season. It had a comfortable vibe that so many upscale restaurants strive for and fall short of, Five Fifty Five achieved this effortlessly. Our server, Mike, was one of the finest, most knowledgeable servers we've ever had. His passion for both the restaurant he represented, and the food he was serving have been unmatched in our years of dining. We enjoyed the 5 course Chef's tasting with the wine pairing, and every single dish was presented so thoughtfully by Mike and with such passion that we honestly thought he was an owner of the place. It made for a truly special evening for two of us. We will absolutely be returning, and recommending it to all of our friends. Thank you again!

We love this place for brunch. Dinner is good too, but we usually head here 2 to 3 times a year for their Sunday brunch because it has excellent menu choices of eggs and lunch items. Consistently excellent!

I can't eat seafood so, their famous lobster mac n cheese was out. The burger was perfectly cooked and delicious.

Decent value for the quality and complexity of food that is served. The aged ribeye steak for 2 was cooked perfectly medium and had great flavor. Waitstaff were about average but slightly off the mark for that level of establishment. Food 4 Value 3.5 Waitstaff 3.5
