One of my favorite places! I was really surprised to read the bad review for dinner. Maybe it was the menu choices as I have never had the Bell and Evans chicken or the gnocchi. Since they raise their own grass-fed beef (and even though I rarely eat red meat) I always order either the prime rib (dinner) or a burger (lunch). They are both super delicious and I have had these items several times. My husband does not ever eat red meat so he always requests a seafood linguini (dinner) which is not on the menu but they will make specially for him. It is always really good; most times they make their own pasta and it has never stuck together. The lobster roll for lunch is on a crescent roll and it is also delicious, as is their sweet potato fries. Salad is always fresh and tasty. Cranberry bread served with dinner is really delicious too, although one time when we went for dinner the bread was a bit charred on the edges. They brought us a new loaf of course. That is my only bad experience here.

I went there for both dinner then breakfast. We had a voucher for both and seeing that it was rated 5 stars on google we were excited to go. I wanna start off by saying both servers we had were PHENOMENAL. Super friendly and attentive. I am going to break it down between dinner and breakfast because they were very different experiences. Dinner: Pros- The cranberry bread they bring to the table is yummy. We started with the crab cakes and they were good. Decent wine selection. Waiter was very nice. The place was empty. Cons- The place was empty. I got the bell and Evans chicken and he got the gnocchi and roasted butternut squash. I was SO disappointed with my dish (bell and Evans). The fettuccine was hard and clumped together. The white wine sauce looked like dirty water and didn't taste like anything. Chicken was breaded lightly and charred in some areas. I have never had such a bad pasta dish before. His gnocchi was slightly better, he said it was edible but not fantastic. I tasted it and agreed. Such indulgent sounding ingredients how can they taste so bland? I barely touched my plate and the waiter asked my boyfriend how his was (his plate almost empty) but not me, probably because he knew it was disgusting. We spent our $70 voucher and then another $25 for drinks. So not worth it. Breakfast: Because of our experience the night before we weren't expecting much. Cons- Mold in the jelly when we opened it. Most likely a fluke but yuck. Pros- He got 2 eggs any style with a side of meat and I got the Belgian waffle. We were both very pleasantly surprised when both dishes were delicious. They are super attentive and your water and coffee are never empty. BOTTOM LINE: Chance it here for breakfast but skip it for dinner. We were so bummed out considering all the great places Portland has to offer.
