Maine Diner

Loved this Wells diner. Open year-round. Down-home restaurant, local, welcoming to all. Good food and a no-pressure atmosphere. I loved my lobster salad and the accompanying corn muffin was ideal : tender, corn-mealy, flavourful without being outrightly sweet, nor was it greasy. I went on a Friday in early May at 2.30pm and sat down immediately for lunch.

The Maine Diner is very popular with tourists and the lines can be long during the tourist season. It is also popular with local tradespeople who are up and about early. The menu is long and has a large variety of items. The breakfast menu is available all day and is also comprehensive. I find most items to be more salty than I prefer but it should be noted that I use very little salt when I cook and I normally do not put salt on the table. I also sense a high level of fat in most dishes, i.e., typical of diner food. During tourist season the noise level can be quite high. The servers are terrific even when the diner is mobbed. In summary, for tourists the Maine Diner is a place to be experienced. If you are a local I recommend going very early to enjoy a tasty and filling breakfast.

The absolute best blueberry pancakes i have ever had. I got 3 Blueberry Pancakes a Warm Lobster Roll and a Bowl of Seafood Chowder. Someone told me they had they best seafood chowder ever and they were absolutely right. Everything was perfection. I wish i lived closer so i could eat it more often. Will DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE AND WILL BE BACK HOPEFULLY SOON.

You have to come here if you are in Wells ME. I had breakfast, and it was fantastic. But my mom and my sister come here alot on there Maine trips and they said lunch is delicious as well. Prices are not bad at all. And I loved the store connected to it. I bought some great things. The t-shirts are less than$20. Which is great! So wait and get you Maine t-shirt there!

Great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I travel 120 mi. From my home in Rhode Island at least 4 to6 times a year. In my post is the seafood Platter I had on my last visit. I also get Jim Nance (named after the famous sportscaster) It's a hot Lobster roll with drawn butter on the side. And it comes with fries or potato salad, a cup of their award winning Seafood Chowder and a homemade corn muffin. The whole thing is great but the potato salad and seafood Chowder are to die for.
