Dockside Tavern Food & Spirits

Went with two of my three boys (7 & 4) for the first time (and probably the last). One has a dairy allergy and there wasn't much for him. The other enjoyed the cup of Goldfish crackers that the hostess gave us. The table rocked so badly it was honestly a contributing factor to my 3 stars. The food was good, not great, but I feel as though items like the fries, chicken strips (was told they don't make them in house because we had to ask for the ingredients), and cheese curds were all store purchased and reheated. Just didn't have a flavor or texture to the food that would leave me thinking they made the items in house. Decent decor, but really wasn't too impressed. The walleye fingers (I think that was the name) was good and different. Bringing my personal opinion to 3 stars. To sum it up: there was a lot of "eh" parts to the establishment, a "that's cool" (wall of old outboards), and the sub par side items and rocky table that brought down my rating, but the main dish was good so I give it a 3.

We dine out a lot and have never sent anything back and we did for the first time here. Fish tacos were so bad my husband couldn’t stomach more than one bite. Ahi tuna app was completely bland and unseasoned. The server asked for a temp on burgers that was completely ignored in their preparation. And the service was also disappointing. Cloying at first, eager to get an order repeatedly when we were clearly not ready. Then she dropped off the food and ran. No “can I get you anything else” when we clearly had empty glasses that I even started to say “can we get a refill...” as she walked away. We complained to the manager and had the fish tacos removed from our bill. But our meal and visit was so bad that we left hungry and went to another restaurant to try dinner all over again. A rather expensive failure for our evening.

Service was poor, selection of food was good, food was okay.

Coming during the colder months when the patio is closed, you will be rewarded with ample seating and good service. The place is less busy than in the summer months, but the food is just as good.
