TRULY BASIC, not one frill to be found.
But the staff was very nice and helpful. Almost willing to wash my pup for me.
I'd give it a try if you're in a pinch on time as they are open later than usual, but be prepared to get wet.

Dog Wash Doggie Daycare & Boarding is fantastic. My husband and I live in the neighborhood and have been taking our 1.5 year old chihuahua/Jack Russell terrier there since he was a tiny puppy. All of the staff members are very nice and you can tell that all really enjoy spending time and taking care of the animals. When we walk past on the weekend, my dog pulls towards the daycare which is a sign that he likes going! He also gets very excited if he sees a staff member at the dog park on days when he's not in daycare. They also take the dogs on solo walks, which is a nice addition. I trust them wholeheartedly, which is nice to be able to say since I've heard about a lot of negative experiences that people have had with other doggie daycares in the city. I would highly recommend Dog Wash Doggie Daycare.

Superior Staff! Superior Facilities!! Reasonable Prices!!! The Dog Wash (177 MacDougal) is one of the few places in NYC that really sticks to their word. I am a regular at The Dog Wash and I can say they are the BEST. Every time I come in they welcome me with big smiles and treats for my dog Maya. There are two daycare facilities (one for bigger dogs and one for smaller dogs) which are ALWAYS kept clean and staffed with at least one employee. They also have dog wash stations and boarding facilities. I'm a little on the cheap side but they're prices are so reasonable there is no reason to argue with it. When I went away for vacation and Maya stayed there and they went the EXTRA MILE! They sent pictures and emails just to let me know my baby girl was doing okay and getting along great with the other dogs. If your looking for daycare, a good wash, or overnight service I strongly recommend The Dog Wash.

Dog Wash is great. The staff are awesome. All legitimate dog lovers who take their jobs seriously and know how to provide a safe, fun and calm environment. I've seen dogs of all temperaments there and they are well catered to. My guy is a rescued, socially awkward doxie and they have definitely helped him come out of his shell. He's much happier there than other day cares we've tried. I always feel good about taking him there. It's not easy an easy job but these folks do it well. They're also reasonably priced and take the dogs out for relief walks.

I love to travel, but having a dog can sometimes determine whether or not I will be able to. Of course, I love leaving my dog with friends who know how to care for her, but I also don’t want to be the person who inconveniences their friends often. This is why I was elated to find out about Dog Wash Doggie Daycare & Boarding NYC. I went to get my dog groomed first to get the feel of the place first, before deciding to board here with them for 5 days. The place us utterly spotless, light, airy, and the staff are charming and true animal lovers. I should mention that they also did an amazing job grooming her. The first time I left her there, I was nervous still, but to my complete joy she looked happy as could be when I came to pick her up. Since then, I have boarded my pup with them on every trip.
