My wife and I brought our dog Nika with us to visit New York. Wanting some time to experience some sight seeing that didn't allow for a dog, we brought Nika to stay at the Dog Spa / Hotel. We stopped by when we got into town and they took her from us for a couple hours so we got settled into our hotel and she could adjust to the place. We were very appreciative for the way the looked after our requests for her care and for what we felt was special attention we got (after standing there for a little while, we came to realize they were treating ALL the owners and pets with the same enthusiasm!) Long story short, we will continue to use the New York Dog Spa / Hotel and I would recommend this business to anyone looking for the best care for their pets!

We haven't tried anywhere else in the city because once I went here I didn't need to go anywhere else. My puppy comes for daycare on weekdays while we are at work (he's young with LOTS of energy) and occasional boarding when we go on vacation. You can tell the staff really care about the dogs, know them all by name and treat them as if they were their own. It looks pretty clean, the staff are lovely + caring and my dog is always so excited when we get there (great sign!). I always recommend NY Dog Spa to all of my friends and coworkers.

DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT THEM. As soon as we picked up our pups, we knew there was a serious issue. They ran to us completely out of control, barking, smelling of urine, and behaving completely stressed which had only happened once before when a daycare had unknowingly hired an abusive caretaker. I immediately asked if they had been crated as they displayed far too much energy considering the level of exercise we provided prior to taking them into daycare, upon which a woman behind the counter claimed for "an hour." After I pressed if they had been crated for any particular reason, they got defensive and claimed it was policy to "play an hour, crate an hour" so they could "drink water"...which is blatantly ridiculous because that meant that they CRATE YOUR DOGS HALF THE TIME AND LIED ABOUT IT. We had confirmed with them multiple times what their play schedule was like prior to admitting them, explaining that one of our dogs did not respond well to extensive crating and after we were assured that the dogs would have plenty of play time and they would have minimal crating.
Should have known when they refused to show us the full facility. My perfectly behaved and socialised dog started pulling on the way back and lunging at other dogs which has NEVER happened before and which leads me to believe that they were crated for much longer and deprived of socialisation while there. Absolutely disgusted by their lack of transparency and quite frankly blatant lies. If it were policy that they crate the dogs half the time they are in daycare, why the hell were we a) not informed of that as we were directly asking all these questions during checkin and b) completely lied to regarding this? This is completely unethical and misleading. I will never bring my dogs here again and will do my best to warn other dog owners against this place.
UPDATE: my dog is behaving very strangely since we got back. Very defensive and growly, coming from a dog our behaviouralist, vet, sitters, and previous daycare have labelled as "super mellow." Something happened to him at this place and I will never forgive myself for bringing my baby here. It's been a complete 180 since we brought him in this morning. I hope this place gets shut down for completely unethical business practices. I also read another review stating that the owner's lawyer contacted the reviewer demanding their 1 star review be removed; try me.

I LOVE New York Dog Spa and Hotel. I just boarded my dog there for the weekend and once again job well done. Front desk girls are very welcoming when you walk through the door. The staff is super friendly and the general manager (Mik) is charming and helpful. They took such good care of my little girl. 5 paws!

I would not bring my Dog here they are totally unprofessional . I walked in today and there was about 4 women behind the counter, I asked them if the had a hoodie in a different size ? I asked this three times. I kinda yelled it the 3rd time as they were just all talking with each other paying no mind to customers at all. I can only imagine what they do to dogs. Their lack of concern and their attitude was so unprofessional i put down the bag of treats I was buying and walked out, I feel sorry for the owner of this place as I am sure they are paying good money to their employees just to watch them do nothing.
