I almost did not want to post a review for this place because I do not want to share it! From the servers, to the food, to the drinks, everything was so phenomenal! My friend goes very often and asked a few of us to join for her birthday, it’s officially one of my new favorite restaurants. I arrived after happy hour was ending but our server still gave me happy hour prices, and gave me suggestions on what to eat. We basically ordered everything on the menu pad Thai, beef strips, fish, Brussels sprouts. Will definitely be back!
I definitely would recommend this restaurant on any day! The ambiance is superb! The food is outstanding! Fantastic alcoholic options… including endless mimosas. I also ended up ordering their iced Vietnamese Coffee to go for the perfect pick me up!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
I really enjoyed my experience here. Had the spring rolls as the first appetizer and they had a great crunch and the contents were tasty, even though I prefer a sweeter dipping sauce. The crispy chicken wings were fried so well, no complaints. The beef in the beef platter was so juicy, the sauce on top was flavorful and it had a chewier consistency. Person I was with loved the stir fried rice noodle as well. The $7 dragonfruit daiquiri was good as well. Would def come back
Yesterday my boyfriend and I went here and everything was great. For drinks we ordered the electric kiss, a little too sweet but tasty. For apps we ordered the pork steamed dumplings and fried beef jerky. 10/10. For entrees we ordered Seafood curry and Shaken Beef. Seafood curry was to die for and wasn’t not coconut based which made it better because I am not a fan of coconut curry or coconut anything. I definitely recommend this place.
Passing by this restaurant, we looked at the plates and decided to take a table. We liked the service, the food and the atmosphere. Our server Mike was super attentive and fast. The weather was kind of gloomy and he drew our attention, that it might rain We felt welcome in this place. The food was amazing as well. We ordered beef with sticky rice, stir fried noodles and crunchy wings as an appetizer. Dish sizes are generous and yummy!
Spectacular food, great brunch experience, and consistently amazing service. I can’t recommend doi moi highly enough. I love a lot of the food here, but I have to give a special shout out to a couple dishes: the brussels sprouts are legitimately among my favorite dishes in DC. No joke, they’re cooked perfectly. The tofu bahn mi is perhaps the best prepared tofu dish I’ve ever had tofu is so easy to mess up!. Both the watercress and papaya salads are excellent. Lastly, the $7 daiquiris are fun and refreshing. Can’t recommend doi moi highly enough.
Good not great…the sticky rice was old and dry. The waitress tried to change it but she said it was going to take 40 min so she deducted that from the total, which was great! The fried whole fish was good too but uncooked inside so we couldn’t eat it all. One side of the fish had really good seasoning and the other side zero. One kombucha in a bottle was $10 and the iced tea was too diluted. Also, I don’t mind but I’m sure some people do, the bartender girl touches with her hands the lemon she puts on your drink. I saw her twice in front of the person she was serving so I’m sure most people don’t mind?
The experience is fantastic. I love the service and authentic food. Every dish is fresh made and maybe unlike everyone else, I love the idea of the open kitchen so I can see how the food is prepared. I recommend fried tofu, crispy chicken, curry, and steamed buns.
This place came #1 recommended by a friend who used to live around this hip university area. Awesome vibes with young people having fun everywhere! Great for walking. We walked about a mile from the Mayflower hotel and the entire walk was chill. At what restaurant we got the traditional buns….delish!…lamb lom… ate like lettuce tacos :… and fried rice…so so yummy!! Our drinks were these cool fruit juice drinks… tropical thunder. Could’ve drank a dozen of them. Date night - chill night - overall fun night and atmosphere! It’s a blast…just try it…won’t regret it.
I went here for Brunch doing Pride weekend. The atmosphere is decent 3/5, food was great 5/5, prices a bit high, but normal for a trendy place in the area. Minority Review: I saw a great mix of ethnicities, ages, and genders! All were welcome. It was pride weekend though
