I cannot say enough good about everyone at Dove Lewis and about the wonderful care our sweet baby girl Meadow received. Had it not been for the treatment she received, Meadow most likely would not even be alive. Instead, she appears to be thriving, and is back to her happy energetic and playful self. Shortly after we got to Dove Lewis following overnight at another emergency veterinary clinic and a 6 hour drive, we met Dr. McGuire, who immediately performed a 6-hour plasma transfusion on Meadow, who at only 25 pounds had ingested over 50 Advil. The ongoing care with Dr. McGuire as well as with Dr. Marshall and Dr. Loftin, and by all of the other staff Adrien, Jennifer, and I greatly apologize to those of you whose names I do not know, including the staff out front was above and beyond. It was a bitter-sweet experience, as, even though the situation was quite serious, Meadow also got treated to massages and was treated with such compassion that it was as though she was at a doggy spa : I am sure the individualized attention Meadow received in ICU expedited her healing and prevented her from needing a kidney transfusion, and at this point in time seems to have assuaged any permanent kidney, liver, gastrointestinal or central nervous system damage. She was so happy to be back home, and immediately grabbed all of her noisy toys and began running around the house including on the top of the couch, where she is not normally allowed : And, her cat was so thrilled to have her home, too. My only regret is that Dove Lewis is not closer. I pray I never have a dire emergency such as this with any of my pets ever again, but I would definitely drive the 6 hours to Dove Lewis again if it was warranted and time permitted. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Dove Lewis. You are the best! I wish I was nearby and could bring Meadow in so that she could individually come up to and thank each of you in person, which I know she would do.
Had an emergency with our little puppy. Couldn’t stop the bleeding at home. This was the only clinic that was open during snow day! They took us in pretty fast too despite the lobby being full. The doctor was so sweet and calmed us down let us know that our little puppy was doing good and getting lots of attention. The whole process took about 5 hours. Whole staff is really nice and polite. Don’t wish for anyone to go through any difficulties with their furry family members, but if something does happen this is the place to GO! Thank you everyone for a great care!
The wait may be long…as some have commented…but they triage all pets and care for all pets. They work tirelessly, sometimes dealing with anxious and sometimes rude people. Regardless, they come to work every day with the hope of making a difference and they do. And they saved our pup’s life after he was struck by a man driving a pickup who never stopped. We rushed our pup to DoveLewis where he was in ICU for three days. We received updates from his wonderful doctors if there was a change in his condition, regardless of the hour. I can’t say enough. Our Seb is doing just great just thanks to their stellar care. And we give throughout the year … as a thank you and to help ensure others received great care for their fur babies, regardless of their ability to pay. So our grateful and heartfelt THANK YOU goes out to all those who work there. Our best to you all!
I honestly believe had my dog gone anywhere but Dove Lewis she would not have survived. After ingesting almost 4/5 times her lethal dose of medication, Dove monitored her diligently and gave her all the necessary life support to pull through. Thank you to everyone at Dove, from receptionist to assistants, techs, and doctors! I know even if Nike had not made it, DoveLewis would have done everything in their power to give her a fighting chance, and that in itself is priceless. Thank you again for saving my pup! <3
I am beyond grateful for the care and coordination at DoveLewis. I especially appreciated their calm and consistent communication. I felt confident that my cat was cared for and safe. They run an amazingly smooth operation! Thank You for taking such good care of Strong Fox!
This is our little 8yr old girl Jinx, her Gallbladder ruptured over this past weekend. We brought her to Dove Lewis Emergency Hospital where they triaged her and told us that she would need emergency surgery. The triage vet explained all of the facts and prepared us for the best and the worst. She told us that they would notify us when they went into surgery and that we would get an update email after. We were terrified at the thought of losing our girl but were confident that she was in the best hands. The surgery lasted a few hours and they communicated with us just as they had said which was very helpful to calm our hearts and minds. The next morning we had another email explaining her condition and what to expect for the next few days as she recovered. This communication took place daily, something we did not expect for such a busy vet hospital. We were so impressed by all of the staff with their genuine concern for our little girl as well as the condition of her parents. She is now home after 4 days of intensive care, resting with her brother. They took the time to explain her after care needs and provided written instructions that were very clear. We can't say enough great things about the Dove Lewis Veterinary Hospital, they saved her life and we are eternally grateful. Special thanks to: Dr. Forman, Dr. Herold, Dr. Tauber, Dr. McGuire, Dr. Hilfman, and Dr. Mense as well as all of the un named technicians who watched over her daily care.
I have come to dove many times. One when my kitten passed away in its sleep and I didn't know what to do with the body. They were so nice, their first thought was that I was hurt and jumped into action trying to help me. When they figured out what I was trying to tell them, they understood,And helped me from there. The quite room was very nice, and peaceful. This week 9/8/22 I rescued my baby bearded dragon, I have to say the staff there is/was still amazing. The surgeon was willing to take pictures so I could see exactly why it's leg needed to be removed. This is a picture during the surgery. If your animal needs surgery you want her to do it. I could tell her and her medical assistant love what they are doing. I will be going back for years to come.
I took my cat Bunnie-Lou here 3 years ago & was EXTREMELY greatful as they gave her great care & used the dove lewis fund to pay $700 for my cats leg infection & my cat is the most important thing in the world to me. She's at my hip 18/7 for the last 7 years & if something happened to her I seriously would lose my mind. I'd sell a kidney for her survival if I needed to. However my 1 negative was when I said that the wound occurred 24-34 hours ago & she said that wasn't possible. I told her the truth. The day prior my cat went outside around 4:00pm & didn't come home until 12:00am which was unusual. She came home with a limp & I took her in the next evening around 1:00am after I found somewhere that helps low income pet owners after taking her to 2 places prior. So 32 hours MAX. AND the vet also said it's not possible the wound happened by something outdoors because the cut was too fine & the accusatory way this was said to me during such a high stress & emotional time brought me to tears. So Did I like that particular veterinarian? Not really...but I try to give people benefit of the doubt & hope she was just looking out for my baby. Do I like the Dove Lewis animal hospital? DEFINITELY. I love them. Did I like the 2nd vet that removed her drain? Very much. Did I like the receptionist? Especially yes, she was so sweet. I owe them my life & would like to start donating to the fund anytime I can.
