DOES ANYONE ANSWER THE PHONE OR RETURN MESSAGES? Not at this office. I have been trying to get an appointment since August 8th. Literally have called the office 32 times with no return call back. And when they do answer, you're on hold for so long because apparently no one wants to work here. I'm surprised their doctor has any patients left. The attitude you get from the women up front is absolutely ridiculous. Women who should know better as they are in a customer service position. I haven't even seen their doctor and don't even want to because of their garbage attitudes. Get it together.
My 84 year mother has been trying to reach this doctor since August...it is now the middle of October. I thought she must be mistaken and called. They claimed they never got a referral from her doctor. I called her doctor and they said they sent it in August. I had them resend the referral and called the next day. The phone was busy for hours and then was on a recording. They never returned the call. Please, everyone with problems with this office report them to Sharp and your insurance. This is terrible behavior and this doctor and his office needs to held accountable. Maybe it is time to RETIRE!!!!
If there is less than one star I would give it to them. This doctor has very bad front service i been trying to make appointment since last year almost a year ago, they don’t pick up a phone when I leave a message no one called back. I just tried right now to call them she answered the phone i was talking with her she said gonna put me on hold while I’m talking. She doesn’t wanna listen to me and then hung up. Very very bad service, attitude , and impolite. When the doctor have that kind of front service that’s mean he is not good doctor and unprofessional. I would never call them again. Don’t waste ur time.
Doctor Sandler talks to his patients as friends. His advice and guidance have lessened the impact on my life with this condition. But, definitely need a better communication system for appointments and such.
Dr. Sandler is great. His staff, however, is dismissive and rude. I was sent away after knocking at the door for 15 min or slightly longer because I was late. The office needs a door knocker and the staff needs lessons on courtesy. I’m changing doctors, though I’m sorry to have to do it.
Updated after trying to schedule for a week-if you are a new patient don't even try. Ask your doctor to refer you to someone else. I haven’t even seen the doctor yet and it is literally impossible to try to contact this office. Worst experience I’ve had trying to schedule an appointment. Also, why is there a 2 hour lunch break when their workday is shorter than any other office I’ve been to. When you’re a patient the last thing you want to worry about is SCHEDULING.
My mom is a diabetic and we were referred to Dr. Sandler for the first time in December 2021 and we never went back. The wait time is very long. I had to call the office for someone to open the door, after knocking requested by the sign on the door didn't work for a few times. As for the demographic of patients that day, that there were a few non-english speaking patients waiting in the waiting room. I came with my mom who doesn't speak English either and I was going to translate for her, rather than do it through a translator by phone. As soon as the doctor saw us, he was already annoyed. He asked what I was doing there and I explained that I would be translating. He asked how long has my mom been in the US and why has she not learned any English at all. I couldn't believe my ears. I even asked if he would just like us to leave if he doesn't want to see my mom. He said no, we held out and stayed because my mom already had a bad experience with another specialist the month prior and needed more information about her health. He then proceed to tell me that he was tired of dealing with translators and people who don't speak English because it doubles his time, etc. He then spent more time asking about my personal life, rather than questions about the patient - my mother. He finally got to business and talked about my mom's health which only took like 5 minutes. He spent more time telling us to look for another doctor and asked why aren't we trying to look for another doctor that isn't him/for a Vietnamese doctor who specializes in diabetics there's none within the network as far as I know. I told him we already have been to another specialist in Chula Vista -- but that wasn't a great experience either. He then asked who the doctor was and badmouthed that doctor too. Overall very unprofessional. The tipping point was after we concluded the visit, he scheduled a tele-visit over the phone within the following month - my mom thanked him as we were walking out. He looked my mom in the eyes and said he's thankful he didn't go to fight for someone like her referring to the US soldiers going off to fight during the Vietnam war. I cancelled the tele-health phone call in January 2022 after requesting a new specialist from our primary care, mind you - it took THREE calls to cancel. I highly do not recommend going to Dr. Sandler if you're a person that needs a translator. I can't imagine how he treats other patients that don't have a family member WITH them.
I'm required to have a referral to visit, I have blood work that indicates I need to be seen sooner than later. My primary has been great has digitally and faxed this office my referral. After calling three different times trying to make an appointment and encountering really unkind front staff, plus the ridiculously limited hours, 9-3 with a lunch between 12-2 if you call. You can't leave a message for a call back. This office isn't well run, and I asked for a referral to a different doctor. If I'm going to go through something as difficult as what I believe I'm about to, I need my team to actually want to help me.
Wow all reviews saying exactly what I came here to say. Can't get ahold of anyone here. Trying to schedule a first time appointment. Calling no stop between their ridiculous hours 9-3 with a lunch of 12-2? So basically a 4 hour window and that's it? This is insane. Taking my health concerns elsewhere. For as much money as this doctor makes you'd think he'd do better.
I whole heartedly believe that Jeff Sandler M.D. is one of the absolute best in his field. He has treated my ENTIRE family and he LISTENS to you !!!! Which, nowadays, is EXTREMELY RARE !!!!
