East Bay Deli - Downtown

This restaurant is tucked away off the corner of Calhoun and East Bay Street Downtown. It is a clean sandwich shop but is not easy to see from the main road. They have an extensive menu. They also have a salad Barton side plenty of table and Booth seating. Sandwiches overall have unique combinations. Food wasn't great but it wasn't bad. I was disappointed in the quality of the lettuce or the brand new that they were using which had a strange taste and the meat was strange and chewy. My husband ordered a chicken Caesar wrap and absolutely loved it so it might have been just what I ordered in particular. They are a little overpriced for what they are.

I had heard good things about East Bay Deli, so I ordered for delivery. I was told I would receive my order in 45 minutes to an hour, but it took around an hour and a half or so until I received my order. Usually I would be okay with this as I understand that things happen and people fall behind (and it wasn't THAT far behind), however, when I got back to my apartment I realized that I was given the wrong order so I called to let the restaurant know. They then had me bring the wrong order back down from my apartment to give to the driver so he could bring it to the correct address but I was still not given my food at this time. I was told it would be awhile until I received my food because he still had to complete other deliveries. I finally received my food around 9:40PM (over two hours later) and by then it was cold and not very good, so I ended up throwing the majority of it away. I just feel that the situation could have been handled a little better as waiting over two hours for a meal seems like a lot. I also thought it was strange that I was told to bring the other order out to the driver and did not at the very least receive my own order at this time. I have not seen a wrong order handled that way before... However, I will say that no one was unfriendly to me throughout the process of delivering me the correct order.

Very good service and food. There is no ramp into the the restaurant. There are about four steps into the front door. I had my child in the stroller. Therefore, we had to sit outside and someone had to order my meal for me. Not handicap accessible.

Great place to grab a quick bite! You order your food, place the order number on the table and a few minutes later you will have your sandwich/salad/soup. The grilled cheese sandwich is delicious! The terrific turkey melt is also a great go to selection! The parking is a bit tight. If your lucky you will see someone backing out to grab that spot. Around 1pm usually a few spots open.

I’m writing this because I’m honestly at my wits end. I’ve been eating and ordering from East Bay for a long time now. Their quality of food is and has always been really good. I’m writing this and leaving a one star review because they haven’t been able to get my order right ONCE over the last two weeks. This has been something that East Bay has constantly struggled with as long as I’ve been can remember, but this is the worst I’ve ever seen. When you CANT get a simple order correct once in a two week period, there’s a problem. (It’s not cheap either) It’s also ridiculous that I have had to have the person taking the order repeat my order to try and insure it ends up correct (they always act inconvenienced) and still mess it up. I’ve called to let them know every time because as a business owner myself I’d want to know when something isn’t right. Nothing happens, nothing changes, and it’s sad to be quite honest.
