Interesting venue. Bar was super slow due to table point of sale.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent! Food, Service, Venue. This is a hidden gem in Cherokee St. It is spacious inside, parking, convenient, entertainment, Wi-Fi, beautiful bar; a must see and taste to believe! don't let the exterior discourage you; it needs some work. Strongly recommend it!

*BEWARE EVENT ORGANIZERS* This venue is HORRIBLE! The current owners, Ruben and Teresa, are hands down the most unprofessional, disorganized and dishonest people I have worked with in my 22 years of event coordination. * did not give access to the venue at any point after the agreement was signed, despite repeated calls and attempts. Ruben is the POC, but refused to take calls and only called back on occasion. * did not stock the bar, did not tell us prior to event day and would not allow us to supplement, yet provided a bartender who watched our show for free. * agreed to provide complimentary beverages for our VIP- provided Modelo Negro (yeah, right we don't drink it either) * decided two hours before event that he would not open his kitchen, yet specifically mandated at the agreement meeting that we not compete with him on food. Come to find out his kitchen is non- functioning, not clean and would not pass even a lay person's inspections never mind the authorities. * Teresa brought her very underage children to our extremely adult show and asked us to keep it down so her kids could sleep on the floor in the kitchen. * The stage has lights, but they are broken; they provide no sound system, yet sells his space as a music venue and had sound equipment at the agreement meeting. Did I mention the restaurant has not served food in more than two years, yet he insisted NO OUTSIDE FOOD VENDORS. Their behavior was embarrassing to all venue owners and the event profession as a whole. I am eternally grateful, to our dedicated team for overcoming the ceaseless stream of unnecessary obstacles presented by the El Lenador owners and bartender. My champions know who they are! I would award this experience negative five stars (- 5) if that were an option. The space itself has a great deal of potential but as long as Ruben and Teresa are the owners, I recommend you seek another venue; the headaches and lack of onsite support to this ill maintained, historically aged building will cripple your event.
