The service was fast & friendly. My partner enjoyed beef cheek tacos and I had the steak and onions. I was warned that mine would be spicy because the steak is cooked with jalapenos but that's exactly what I wanted. Both were tasty and we will be back to try other options again in the future. I also enjoyed the little patio space filled with flowering plants.
GREAT SPOT..especially for the late night eater..full menu until close..3a Kiko? was such a helpful friendly employee..beautiful decor..clean and pleasant service..the vibe was soo chill..importantly the food was GREAT.. the fact they're open so late was the cherry on top for me..Definitely a must try..the food tasted authentic..which is a must for me..if ever in West St. Paul stop by..
This place has a drive through which made it convenient. We made a quick stop and got a carne asada burrito. The burrito came out within minutes which in hindsight was NOT a good sign. As pictured, this burrito was falling apart and impossible to eat. The meat was on one side and rice on the other, not evenly spread. The salsa was also very watery.
The gentleman that took our order was very pleasant. I think he was the only guy working because we did wait a good minute for our food. He put some cilantro, onions and sauce on the side for us on his own. If it wasn't for how long it took I would give 5 stars. Will come again and try for a second visit.Food: 4/5
Best Mexican food in the twin cities hands down. This is truly authentic food, not texmex. This place has been in business for something like 20 years and there is a reason. Prices are good. Good takes a while but it is worth it. Our go to place for real Mexican food.
Mediocre Mexican, average priced. Burritos are large, lack robust flavor but are ok. Most menu items are just okay, tend to be bland. They do have some great sauces, fresh and tasty, to liven up your dish. Limited drinks - we found soda only. Interior is relatively run down and parts look abandoned. Overall I'd say it's just okay.Food: 3/5
I drove past this little place more times than I can count but I decided to finally give it a try. Walking into the shop, it was quiet, nothing too surprising for a Monday at 3. The man behind the counter was patient with me as I perused the menu and was happy to answer any questions I might have had. I got the Tinga Taco, Tamale, and a side of beans. The beans were like a warm hug from grandma, and adding some onion, hot sauce, and cilantro added just the right flavor and texture to make you almost tear up from trying it. The Tinga Taco was all meat, adding the cilantro, onion, and hot sauce added a fresh taste to it and mingled with the spices of the meat really well. The tamale was kinda dry, but again - it was an off time on a Monday, and when you add a little hot sauce that dryness is forgotten and forgiven. I will 1000% be coming back and hopefully will be bringing friends.
The food is very good, they even have a drive thru which I thought it was a plus this is the first and only time I had stopped at El Taquito. Well, we pulled up at the drive thru speaker and menu, we were there for about 5-7mins until someone relized we were there and told us to pull to the window there were no cars on front of us. We pulled to the window, put our order in, paid for it and then it took a little over 20mins to have our order ready. As I mentioned before, there were no car on front of us, they only had 2 customers inside if the restaurant. Just the wait was too long. If they can fix their drive thru system and their service I will definitely be back because as I mentioned before, the food is very, very good. Couple days later I spoke to a friend about the restaurant and their food and the first thing he said was "did they took half an hour for them to give you your food", so this is a very comun issue with this place, sadly.
I thought I'd try it out since they had some good reviews, I used the drive thru but had to wait to order even though it wasn't busy at all. Once I paid I had to wait another 10 minutes only to get this. The color of the al pastor seemed odd to me and couldn't finish anything after one bite. Hard pass on this place especially when Pineda Taco & Taco Libre is up the block. D yourself a favor and skip this place, you can thank me later.
The food was good. Service was great but when we ordered the tacos. They charged us with the most expensive ones. It was great it a little expensive. recommended the asada tacos and a horchata. Worth the wait.Recommended dishes
