Element Salon and Barbershop 12South

What an amazing experience I had at 12 South element salon. I came in and was greeted by a friendly smiling face, offered something to drink and then given a coupon, hair treatment and mint in a cute little bag with a print out of element salon locations, numbers and services. My stylist, Harlow, was amazing. She looked at pictures I brought, talked about my hair issues (I have naturally curly, wild hair) and color. She really listened because she gave me an excellent haircut exactly as we discussed and described before hand and my color was a right-on match. I made another appointment to see Harlow in 6 weeks. This appointment was such a treat as everyone was so friendly and talkative. It was an enjoyable, relaxing experience, such a treat during a crazy, stressful time in my life. We are only here in Nashville for a few months due to some health issues my husband is having and being treated at Vanderbilt, but Harlow invested time in me anyway, even though she knew I was a "temporary" client. That means something!!! I would highly recommend Harlow; she did a great job on my hair and provided a special treat for me during my time in Nashville. Thanks so much; I appreciate it!!!! My wife got her hair mangled here. Dude who cut her hair managed to take a 6 inch wide portion of her hair and cut it a solid 9 inches shorter than the REST OF HER HAIR. For as much money as they charge, you would think they would do better than a third grader. Even worse, I would have hoped that they had the maturity/professionalism to address the mistake and do their best to make it right. Now I get to hear about it. A lot. Avoid this place. At all costs.

Kaylin has been a dear friend of mine for sometime now and I am BEYOND proud of her for getting to where she is now! She explained each step in what she was doing with my hair, took her time and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. It was an amazing experience and I look forward to coming back!

I have been coming to Element 12 South since I moved to the neighborhood almost two years ago. Every person I have interacted with there has been friendly and helpful, and most importantly I am always happy with my hair! I currently see Lauren and she is super approachable and easy to talk to. The space is trendy and comfortable, and I totally recommend going here.

Here are the facts: Color - Great Job - No complaints Cut - Sloppy - Blunt angled cuts should have precision. There is no precision with this. I wasn't listened to, even when I repeated myself multiple times. I just gave up at the end. Service - Friendly staff, however the cut and end were rushed. I wasn't shown the back of my hair, I wasn't shown a close up of the color, or the cut. I had the front mirror and that was it. Costs: Color and Cut $170, Gloss $35, Smart bond $35, Service fees $9 For a $300 (includes tip) partial color and cut I would expect perfection or a higher end service for Nashville. This wasn't it.
