Elwood Bar & Grill

About

One of Detroit's Art Deco Treasures, The Elwood Bar & Grill was built in 1936 at the corner of ELizabeth & WOODward streets. It was moved in 1998 to the corner of Adams & Brush to make way for Comerica Park. On Game days - this is the place to be!

"Stop in anytime the Tigers or Lions play, and when there are concerts or other events at the stadiums. Rain or shine, we have you covered with a full bar, tasty food, large patio space, and plenty of TVs to watch the game. Swing by and see why the Elwood is the go-to spot for Tigers & Lions games."

The best burger I’ve had in years! And the waiter was extremely nice! Will definitely be back again!
I went before the Billy Joel concert. Of course it was packed. We were very pleased with our waitstaff. With being busy, she made sure we got refills on our pop. The reason I only gave it a 3 - we never got our food. We were there over an hour. The people in the next table arrived and ordered when we got there. They were long gone and we were still waiting. We told our watress we had to go. She apologized and said do not worry about paying for the pop. We left her a tip and went into the concert.
Great hang out! Too bad they don't open on Tiger game days until 3:30 specifically Saturday when fans were lined up at 2:00 for a 5:30 start to honor Sweet Lou Whitaker! Just sayin'.
Went before a tigers game for a quick dinner and drinks. The waitress went MIA for 40 minutes and we were unable to pay. Got in late to the game and she didn’t even give us a pen to write the tip down for the cards. She was a mess, but the food and drinks were good and worth getting before a baseball game.
First off.... wow this place has changed and hasnt changed a lot in the past 30 years. We stopped in to kill an hour while waiting to get into the Monsterjam pit party at Ford Field. The place was packed with folks of the same mindset. Service was great, food was great, really glad to see the Elwood stood the test of time and evolved to benefit from the Detroit revival. My favorite part of my visit was seeing the manager mistake a customer for a vagrant, asking him to vacate the establishment, the struggle is real and its nice to see some things never change.... for the record, I too would have made the assumption, she was very apologetic to the gent.
Food was okay, but it is very overpriced. You can eat inside the stadium for less and with similar quality.
Disappointing service. Crispy chicken sandwich served on a sogging bun and sub par wings. Hot and sunny day and were not permitted to open the umbrella.
Close to the stadium and that option will cost you a premium for a drink.
So much fun to visit before or after a game!
Good eats! Nice staff.
