UPDATE: google will not let me put links, so I had to resubmit this review :-) If you have not gotten your passport or other paperwork you need, or the Embassy has been ignoring you, lying to you, or hanging up on you like they have been doing to everyone else, please contact: 1. One of your state's senators' offices. to find their names and contact info, google the name of your state and the word senator to find out who they are and get their contact info. Call your state's senator's office. The people who answer the phone are friendly, intelligent and understanding. Tell them exactly what is happening, that the same thing is happening to many others, and ask them to intervene on your behalf. They will contact their contacts at the Embassy. This type of request is standard for them. Keep a paper trail of all calls you make and emails you send, so that if you need to show your passport or papers in the future and you still don't have them, you can prove that you have exhausted every possibility and these delays are not your fault. You can also print out these reviews to show that many people are having the same exact experience. ALSO contact 2. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tunisia. That office oversees the embassy, and is basically the embassy’s boss. Tell them exactly what your experience was like, report that the Embassy is not doing their job, that lots of people are reporting the same problem, and ask for their help. Then tell everyone you know who is having the same issues to call their senator and Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tunisia too. Those are the only recourses you have, as far as I know. * * * I see that one or more employees of the Tunisian Embassy has rated the Tunisian Embassy 5 stars (I know his name). I know two people who have been waiting for their passports for more than four months. I have been in the room a few times when they called for status updates when after waiting for months neither of them got their passports. When you call, they will transfer you and hang up on you over and over again. Then they say the passport machine was broken (I read in another review that they have been saying that since at least July 2017, and I know they were still saying this in April 2018!) The receptionist tells you to email the ambassador directly, gives you the main consulate email address and lies by telling you it's the ambassador's direct email. No response. Then you can try to call back repeatedly and you will find that no one answers the phone unless you call over and over again. Finally if someone answers, they will tell you they will look into it and call you back. More lies - they never call back. They do not care that no one can leave the country without their passport. They have absolutely no problem lying, because they have no accountability. But now you know who to report them to: Their boss is the minister of foreign affairs in Tunisia, and your state senator can intervene on your behalf. They should help give the embassy some pressure to actually do their jobs. This is an embarrasment to Tunisia and one of the reasons why it hasn't gotten much respect on the world stage. These people at the embassy do not do any work, and have no qualms about repeatedly lying to their own people, who may need their passport to visit a sick relative or because their US visa is expiring. It is shameful how they are willing to so easily lie to their own innocent Tunisian people. Read the other reviews and you will be just dumbfounded. If it were a company, you could go to the department of consumer affairs for not getting what you paid for, but since they are not U.S., you have to go through other channels: again, please report your experience to your state's senator and to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tunisia and spread the word. There is power in numbers. If several of you do this, they will know there is a real problem and you have a chance of getting help and finally getting the paperwork/passport that you need.

Worst service and experience you can have in your life ! Yes I hate giving bad reviews specially when it's something belong to your country but really they deserve giving them minus stars if I can they just keep laying and they don't do anything to your case which very simple and easy to get passport renewal most of country's now days they get it same day or next day service and some in mins ... this embassy take over months with no result yet .. yes months like multi .. with no result this people they are not doing their job they just get payed and no boss to control and they don't care about you at all if you having the same problem as many please do 2 steps 1- contact minister of foreign of Tunisia and claim to them about this idiots you find their email on their website just google it, hopping they change this lazy a.. team 2 contact your state senator write on google your state and the world senator example Florida state senator, than copy and paste the name of your senator and write next to it '' contact " you will get their contact contact your senator office and claim to them ..of course American service so they will answer and reply fast and so friendly explain and claim the situation to them and I hope to everyone get american citizenship so they don't need this mf anymore Good luck 🍀

Bad experience no response on calls or email reply no passport taking over 5 months they don't care about you or your situation you're going to keep hearing lies and lies over and over and no result till today the worse exp ever you're not going to get worse service experience more than this embassy don't worry ... my opinion try to find a way to renew your passport from tunis a way faster because after sending your passport you're not going to hear back for months sonne careful on your decisions what to do you may need it for other reasons..

I advise you that you contact the Ministrie of Foreign Affairs and Complain like I did. I will not stop complaining until I get my passport back. They are liars, rude, and unprofessional. I even called the ministries in Tunis. You can get the number online. We will see what's going to happen.

It seems they don't give a f about Tunisian people in here ... they will keep lie on you and they just don't want to work ! no answering the phone no service no email reply .. nothing ever after they having my passport for over 7 months and didn't receive my renewal yet ... sad to say they make me feel i hate my country not proud of it and their services if they don't care about you and your situation in another country it's not proudly to be part of them what's the reason to say Tunisian if you don't have embassy stand and give you a hand and ask about you ... we don't need all that we just need our fkn passports which we payed fkn money for it I never seen in my life you pay for service that take anonymous time which service has this policy in the world beside this embassy!!! I don't feel going visit back home anymore I hate it and im not excited anymore and I hate you embassy disgusting liar people 🤧😷 no reason to have embassy here if we mail to Tunisia they will ship renewed passport back a way faster than your service... really worst experience thank you for giving us beautiful picture of the country to show our kids ... please I see many people having same problem please email and report a claim to Ministry of Foreign Affairs you find their email info on their site maybe they change this mf and thank you.
