ESTRELLA INTERNAL MEDICINE AND PEDIATRICS

6 hours ago My 11 y.o. son is 1 year in remission from Leukemia. Last week he developed a suspicious tumor on his scalp. We were instructed by his Oncologist to set up a primary care doctor to get it biopsied. I scheduled an appointment for today at 10am. I filled out paperwork and presented my insurance cards. After waiting in the office for 20 minutes, I was told by the receptionist that my son can’t be seen because his SECONDARY insurance is Medicaid. Anyone who has been touched by cancer understands that cancer treatment is expensive so any help we may receive, (like secondary insurance) is extremely helpful. His primary insurance is BC/BS but because his secondary insurance is Medicaid, we were turned away. The receptionist promptly told us we had to see “a Medicaid doctor” and that my distaste was “silly”. I have never felt so discriminated against in my life!! It is very apparent to me that Dr. Johnson has become greedy and has forgotten his oath to do no harm! Needless to say we found another doctor and office that doesn’t discriminate!

I love this office. Wait time is minimal and the staff is great. Dr Johnson is wonderful.

We love this office and staff! Our entire family has gone there for the past 7 years. They are caring and awesome! Love every PA there

Very unpleasant experience on the phone today with the office staff. My family will not be returning.
