Extra Virgin

This was my first visit to extra virgin and it was excellent. There was a wonderful assortment of meats and cheeses available as well as a grilled octopus that was very delicious. An excellent mac and cheese plus the standard deviled eggs, plus a couple of bourbon cocktails made for a nice evening. Next time, I'll be trying to happy hour. Oh, save room for the churros. So light and delicious!

This place is an adventurous eater's paradise. The menu includes items such as octopus, bone marrow, and tuna heart. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and flavor ($40-50 per person for a meal and drinks) and the the staff are all extremely friendly and laid back. Atmosphere is a hip, noisy bar with a view of the open kitchen. Probably not the best place to bring children, but wonderful for anyone who enjoys fantastic cocktails and creative cooking.

While we highly enjoyed the food, I was highly disappointed by our server. Initially, he was upbeat which gave me high hopes for the place. My friends and I had already decided that after I took care of the bill, they were going to get more drinks and add gratuity on their end. My still wanting to add a bit on my end, went ahead and did that. Ben proceeded to ask me was his gratuity correct or was there something wrong with the service? I explained to him that we were not done, (which I felt I shouldn't of had to explain anything to him). He then rolled his eyes and proceeded to ignore us for the remainder of the night, even after my friend placed another order of drinks for the table. Now serving my way through college myself, I was always trained never to inquire about gratuity and treat everyone the same no matter what reservations I might have personally had. Not only did I fell profiled by this person, but he essentially ruined my first night out in a very long time. Now my friends and I are always going to leave gratuity because we all know the value of a hard days work, but rest assured, this will be our first and last visit Extra Virgin.

Simply extraordinary. There isn't an item on the menu that we didn't enjoy. Our favorite was the chicken livers on toasted bread. A must try. Cocktails were on point and the and a nice compliment to their extensive wine list with many high end wines. You have to visit if you are a foodie visiting KC.

We've always enjoyed going here. Happy hour is a great way to get and early bite, and a deal on drinks too! The food is always stellar, and the staff does a great job making rounds, filling drinks, and staying on top of services. Always quick and delicious!
