Family Video

Okay, so you're probably confused that a video rental store still exists and manages to make money. There's a lot of reasons for people to choose to rent rather than buy movies and games. For me? I don't really feel like I will watch a movie more than once, and I don't want to deal with the side effects of ownership like figuring out where I'm going to store a DVD or Blu-ray. Renting a video game before you buy it definitely gives you an opportunity to see if it's worth spending $40+ dollars of your hard earned money. And that's all before we get to the value of movie rental for low income communities. So that being said, let's talk about the store. Employees were really friendly and helpful. Prices are totally fair, and the membership process is simple and affordable. Titles were up to date, and we'll organized. Video game section covered most common systems, and was larger than just a rack or two. All in all? I'm glad this place exists.

I visited this location for the first time today and signed up for a membership. The lady that signed me up was wonderful! After completing my registration, she showed me around the store and explained how everything worked. I even get 1/2 off rentals for 30 days! There were 2 other employees working at the time and they were also great. We discussed which recent movies we enjoyed. I love being able to walk around a video store and chose which titles I'd like to watch. I'm not into digital movies, so this place is perfect! Highly recommend!!!

We are just so happy to have a video store right down the street from our house. But it was real nice video store with lots of movies available for rent. And you get each video for five days. Awesome!

This is a very friendly, helpful video store. If your video won't play, bam! They swap it for a new one and give y'all extra night's. I really really love this place .I used to go to block buster back in the day, but this place is so much better. ....and cheaper!

Great prices, but poor service. The staff told me incorrect information regarding return protocol, which I was them charged late fees for. When I attempted to talk it out, several employees were extremely rude and wouldn't hear of it, in addition to being hesitant to give me the corporate number. I attempted several times to contact corporate but never heard anything back. There are definitely better alternatives.

I have been a loyal customer of Family Video for 6+ years now. I have been going to the Whitehall location for about 4 of those 6 years. I had an experience tonight at the Whitehall location that unfortunately will end my business relationship with Family Video all together. I was questioned by the store associate as to whether or not I rented the movies for two nights or one. I am not a person who likes handouts or freebies but the way that she questioned my principles and character was infuriating. She agreed to waive my fees since I asked for them for two nights and the store associate put them in for one. It isn't about the $4.00 in late fees that upset me but the principal of the matter and the disrespect that this associate displayed towards me, the customer. I then sent my husband in to turn in the movies. He explained to the store associate that he was my husband and that he was turning in the movies and she was to credit the account. She tried to lie to my husband and tell him that she spoke with the guy who originally checked me out and he said he didn't recall me asking for them for two nights. One, isn't that the store associates job to ask for one or two nights and Two, now you are basically calling your customers liars? This store needs improvement in training it's employees how to treat it's customers with respect. Safe to say I am not giving them my business anymore.

Selection of films is sparse, and I hate being hard sold on buying extra membership plans. My film 3 KNEE DEEP is also available at this location, distributed worldwide by redbox as well. Staff simply didn't seem to give two craps. nice to have support for my work from a local retailer. Maybe they were too busy trying to sell me stuff to realize the accomplishment of getting a film into stores all over the world.

Customer service is Excellent! This place has the new stuff and the old stuff, you can't get anywhere else. More importantly, the friendly, awesome staff really go out of their way to help their customers. Josh, Latonya and everyone are great!

Although there are not many places to go & rent a movie other than online. I enjoy going here selecting a few movies to watch. The staff is friendly & knowledgeable about the various movies. Now, that's a service you can't get online.

They have a selection of 4K UHD Blu-Ray and 3D Blu-Ray releases at this store, which you cannot get from Netflix or Redbox, along with everything else you'd expect from a video store. This location has been around long enough that it still has that familiar VHS video store smell when you walk in for maximum nostalgia.
