Fern Ridge Hiking Trail

It's easy to miss the sign for this trail, even though it's along Highway 155. The hike is less than a mile, which loops back to the small parking area. The hike is a bit hilly, but I have a bad knee and manage. A very pretty little trail. If you want a longer hike, you can easily make your way to Little Bass Lake Road, which offers a gorgeous view of Little bass Lake. When I was a kid hiking with my brother and father, we pressed on towards Found Lake Road and walked back to the trailhead from the north, along Highway 155. I hiked the same route in 2015, and it was terrifying along 155 with its traffic. From Little Bass Lake, consider turning around to walk back to the Fern Ridge Trail. Much safer. There are no restrooms available at the trailhead.

Awesome trail to snowshoe, we were the first ones on after a 4”-6” snow fall...absolutely beautiful!!! Easy access off highway 155. Although it is a shorter trail (1 mile) don’t drive by this one!!! Sometimes the sign can be hidden by a snow bank but it’s right across deer run Resort sign...
