First American Title Insurance Co.

Bloomfield Hills location:
I have done many closings, but
I found my experience on Friday, 9/22/2017, with this company's Escrow Closing Officer, Pat Flinchum, to be extremely rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, unpleasant, unhelpful and plain old nasty acting.
When my husband and I first arrived there for the closing, the receptionist was extremely nice, professional and personable. But
when this closing officer came out , she was not personable and had very little to say, sending out very negative vibes, and unpleasant to be conducting this business with. Her attitude got worse when I questioned and challenged the amount that I, the seller, was to pay during closing. I let her know that l was disputing these title fees because the seller's middleman told me that as part of the deal, l wouldn't be obligated to pay any of the title closing fee, but when I got to the closing, the buyer and middleman, for buyer, weren't there. The buyer chose to come an hour earlier to sign his documents. So since he was not there, he had to be called to solve this conflict. Before that, this escrow officer, made a comment that she had other closings to do as if She was being inconveniently held up as I was calling and talking with buyer for clarification on the disputed amount on the document. As l was talking to buyer, she had buyer on loudspeaker and she heard him say just get the matter done. So she slammed the door, with a frown on her face to go re-do the documents and to correct the check amount. When she returned, she rudely flopped down the papers for us to sign without uttering three words, as if trying not to communicate with us, but it was clear that she took this whole situation in a personal manner, instead of displaying professionalism in handling this closing. It seemed as if she and the buyer knew each other very well from prior business closings, and obvious uses that location for his closings. I was appalled and offended by this escrow officer behavior. This is one Title company that will not be getting my business again. I have never been treated like that at a closing. Very strange. And hopefully this company will talk with this employee about improving her professionalism and pleasantry to future clients.
